So I arrive at 5:20 PM with my pregnant wife (yes, pregnant, as in âneeds comfort, not a barstoolâ). They donât take reservations, so we figured showing 20 minutes after opening would give them a generous head start to get their act together. Silly us.
We ask for a table for two. The hostess, with all the grace of a bouncer at a dive bar, informs us weâll be seated at the bar. Why? Because theyâre âsaving the bigger tables for bigger groups.â By âbigger,â they mean tables of four. My wife, who understandably occupies two seats herself, apparently doesnât qualify as a âgroup.â Cool.
We reluctantly accept the bar seating, knowing full well itâs not ideal for someone carrying a human inside her. Twenty minutes later, a table for two opens up. But hey, weâre already settled, and Iâm not about to play musical chairs with a pregnant woman.
Then comes the real kicker: a solo girl gets seated at a table for four right behind us. I assume sheâs waiting for friends. Nope. The server removes two place settings. One friend eventually joins her. They order two small plates and a medium. One hour later, still just the two of them, lounging at a table for four like they own the place.
Meanwhile, my wife and Iâwho consumed enough for four and physically occupy the same spaceâare perched at the bar like afterthoughts. So let me ask: how is that fair? How is that hospitality? How do you plan your seatingâdartboard and blindfold?
If youâre going to play favorites, at least be honest about it. Either treat all guests with equal respect or just shut your doors and start a private club for the chosen few.

Best restaurant in Winnipeg! The food, service, and atmosphere are impeccable. Every dish was so tasty and presented beautifully. The vibes were great. Just a 10/10 experience.
Beautiful interior design, really stood out to me. Ordered a couple dishes, some were better than the others. Nonethless a very enjoyable experience, service was excellent. There are still line ups for this place especially during Fri/Sat. I suggest waiting in line 15 mins before opening to secure a spot. The food here is meant to be shared. Alittle pricey but in line with other tapas style restaurants in the city. Plates I enjoyed were the BBQ Striploin, Fried Broccoli, Beef Tartare and Lobster Roll. Plates that were just ok was the Scallop XO Noodles felt one dimensional and abit salty. The Duck Rice was also ok, something missing in the flavour for me.
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening. Delicious cocktails and a fantastic bartender (Nick) that described the details. Great food with a professional kitchen and service team. Our table was right next to the semi-open kitchen/expo line, which provided a delightful dinner and a show.

We were at BabyBaby on a rainy Monday evening. Arriving right at 5 gave us a table by the window. The server was very helpful with the menu. All dishes we had were suitable for sharing with a group of four. Small portions but every bite was delicious!!! Will definitely be back!
The restaurant itself is beautiful and I loved the vibe! All the staff were super kind. The menu states to keep your visit to 2 hrs, however it took that long to get all our food. It's worth noting we arrived 15 minutes before they opened on a Sunday and were third in line, so there wouldnt have been many dishes submitted to the kitchen before ours. It was an hour wait between our third and fourth dish, and the third dish came out cold. We told our waiter and she gave us a free dish to tide us over while we continued to wait for the sea bass. All the food was great, but the portions are incredibly small and not shareable as they suggest.
I wouldn't recommend going to baby baby if you're hungry. It's a great spot for drinks and an appetizer, but all the dishes (regardless of the size they are listed on the menu) are appetizer size, and they are not made quickly.

Such a great spot! Great service, wonderful decor and vibe, tasty dishes :) Broccoli dish was large and a standout. Mussels were great with an Asian influence Potato dish was very good as well Really enjoyed the scallop pasta dish Great plates to share Trifle dessert was nothing special but nice
