Decent sub. Decent Viet dishes. Charming interior.

Their food is tasty enough. The Banh Mi although not my favourite ranks highly among the rest in the city. Although simple and standard by appearances. The dishes themselves tell a clear message. One of basic standard and quality. It's always good. Sometimes but rarely, it's great. But most importantly, it's never bad.

It's also unfortunate that the price on the Banh Mi increased so much so quickly here.
About 3 minutes away is another spot makes the best Banh Mi you will ever have for 25cents more.

I think they have to step up their level with the Banh Mi or under cut them on price. I used to come here quite a bit for the subs whenever it wasn't just for myself. Now there's really no reason at all to come just for the sub. The sub itself also needs more strength to the pickling flavour in the carrot. It's too weak and should be crisp but instead is flimsy and thin sliced with barely any acidity in taste- which would really help cut and complement the well marinated and salty meats. Daikon would be nice to see as well but not so important or even necessary. Some would probably say it's unnecessary but I like it.
I like the bun itself, it's fluffy with a light crust. The crust is in my opinion, too light or it should just be toasted as a standard. This would make it perfect. The rest is perfectly composed with enough meat, cilantro and chili which all tasted fresh. I would prefer the cucumber sliced slightly thicker and without these cuts from the edge that end up being 50 skin of the vegetable

Either way this is a Vietnamese restaurant that I look forward to frequenting and comforting in through the familiar and consistent flavours they offer.

Stopped in here for lunch and the banh mi was fantastic, I'm going to have to come back and try some of their other flavors!

The pho was not as rich and deep as some other restaurants, which some other reviews have said may be because they don't use MSG, which I can't really fault them for. Don't get me wrong though, the pho was still very flavorful and the broth was smooth and refreshing, perfect for a hot summer day.

I was also very impressed with the portion size, it's been a long time since I've sat down in a Vietnamese restaurant and had a bowl of pho dropped in front of me that's so big that I wonder if I'll be able to finish it! It used to be a lot more common but I'm glad I found a place that is still generous!

I'll have to make up an excuse to bring my family here sometime.

God I love Vietnamese subs. The lemon grass tofu has gotten me through many days of delivering mail.

Bahn Mi Mr Lee is a great place for authentic Vietnamese food in the West End of Winnipeg. I usually stop here for lemongrass, beef sub, and it’s absolutely delicious! They also offer other varieties of Vietnamese subs, bubble, tea, coffee, and other authentic dishes. It’s a casual place so no reservations are acquired and there is rec seating inside for about 20 people. I highly recommend.

It’s an unbelievable restaurant. The first time I don’t wanna take any photos for the food. Guess why?

They provide all food by ONE-TIME food containers.

When I saw the plastic bow, plastic spoon… I just wanted to stand up and leave there.

Not much portion, not tasty. I was thinking why it got so high score. Maybe the price is a little bit lower than others? Cause they don’t hire anyone to wash dishes. That’s a good way for saving money but more cost from you and me on decomposing plastic bowls.

Never be here again.

Delightful! I ordered the lemongrass tofu bahn mi, and was not disappointed! Ample topping and fair amount of tofu, and although i prefer fresh chilies I still had the option of sriracha which gave it a nice kick.
My partner had a beef bahn mi, and was also quite pleased .

I ordered the mr lee deluxe special pho. It was good. Good amount of noodle but I just hoped it has more meat in the soup. The soup base was great. It didn’t have too much msg and I was able to drink it.

Can’t commend on atmosphere or service as it was my husband who picked up the order.

We had 2 bahn mi (grilled chicken, lemongrass beef), beef stew sandwich, and pork & shrimp salad rolls.

As we ordered delivery I can't tell the atmosphere of this place. Everything was packed nicely and neatly. Good price for the quantity I got.

I was a bit disappointed it wasn't much meat in sandwiches. I barely tasted or smelled lemongrass. Beef stew had 3 pieces of beef and a few carrots and very thin broth, not like stew that I had from other places. Salad roll sauce also seemed very diluted hoisin sauce without much depth.

All the food was very fresh though! Maybe it wasn't for me.
