We ate dinner here with another couple. We had nine dishes (basically everything on the menu) and a bottle. My wife and I agreed it was one of the best meals (or even the best) we have ever had. Also, informed and attentive service.Cannot recommend highly enough.

Excellent experience. One of the best meals I have had in years. We had a 6 top and our waiter was extremely attentive. The room was warm and intimate. Food was phenomenal- the salads and vegetable dishes were stellar. Unique flavors and presentation with every round of tapas.

Very disappointing night at Bar Accanto last night. This was ou second time. First time was great! Brought friends for their first visit :( Service was so so, food was definitely not matching the price point. Artic Char at $28 for a mini plate was fatty and tasted off, Lamb at $29 was also miniature , quite fatty and frankly not good.. when we mentioned to server , their was no apologies or offer to replace or take off the bill.. strange and disappointing.

Our group of 4 are self-professed foodies who love places like Nola and Enoteca, so we were very disappointed with our experience here. Overall the food was very disappointing, in both presentation and taste, but mainly taste. The beef tartare was good, but otherwise everything else was just okay to the Arctic Char which was horrible. We complained about the Char to two servers, both of which just kinda smiled and said "oh well". At $28 we expected more. The one bubbly by the glass option tasted like apple cider, not good. Our group left hungry and disappointed. I only took one photo of a dish and anyone that knows me I take photos of everything, so that's how bad it was. Otherwise the space is very cosy and the service was very good, except for the non-acknowledgement of the bad Char. We hope others have better experiences here because we love the idea of it, the execution just fell flat last night.

Bar Accanto is a lovely little wine bar with attentive service and sharable plates that look and taste incredible. We splurged and ordered five dishes plus a dessert between the two of us when we were here this past summer. It was a lot of food but the meal was perfectly paced. The beef tartare was my favourite of the evening and the wasabi granita on the oysters was a delightfully fresh pop of flavour. Overall, it was a highly enjoyable dining experience. I recommend making a reservation using their convenient online booking system.

Amazing we have a restaurant this good in Winnipeg. The dishes have more layers to the flavours than I knew possible. I also enjoyed two of the red wines and my wife was excited to try the orange wine. Highly

Bar Accanto is a cute little spot in St. Boniface that's perfect for a casual evening out with friends and family. I was surprised by how busy it was on a Thursday night despite being a walk-in. The dim lighting makes it feel cozy and intimate, but I would suggest brighter lighting over the tables to allow customers to fully appreciate the beautiful presentation of the dishes. All my food pictures required the use of a night setting. The menu features small plates meant for sharing, but I found that the portions were a bit too small for a group of four. If you divide each dish among four, you'll only get a couple of bites per person. However, for 2-3 people, it would be just right. We ended up ordering 7 plates, and that was enough for us.The vegetarian dishes, including the salads, were a highlight. The meat dishes, on the other hand, were a bit more hit-and-miss. Our favourites were the agnolotti (ravioli-type dish) and roasted potatoes, which were both visually appealing and flavorful. But most of the other dishes were overpowered by a lemon/lime sauce, which, while potentially intentional, was too much for our palates. I might have to go back again on a different day to see if it was just an off night. The service at Bar Accanto was excellent, with our server being attentive and genuinely friendly. It was a truly enjoyable dining experience.Overall, Bar Accanto is a great place for a casual and intimate evening out with good food and excellent service, especially if you're a vegetarian. While the small plates might not be suitable for larger groups, the quality of the food and the overall vibe make it worth checking out.

Good food but quite over priced, even for the small plate style that every restaurant seems to be doing now. My wife and I go out regularly and recognize you need to "pay to play" in the nicer restaurants. Something I'm getting increasingly annoyed with is the sheer number of restaurants doing the small plate/sharable plate business model. I get it, it's trendy and allows the restaurant to inflate profit. But Bar Accanto. Really!? $17 for a 1 inch slice of roasted cabbage!?? Come on!

Here is everything we ordered for our date night..Oysters: absolutely delicious and might be the best oysters I’ve ever had.Tuna crudo: good, but not amazing. I found it was almost too citrusy and bright if that even makes sense, as I was left wanting some sort salty/umami component to round out those flavours.Beef tartare: so so so good and I think might be my new favourite tartare in the city. My boyfriend who isn’t a huge tartare person loved it as well. Our favourite dish of the night.Roasted cabbage: very good. Cabbage is such an underrated vegetable and they did it well.Pork belly: melt in your mouth tender, so succulent. Just perfect.Braised lamb: very tender but was lacking flavour and overall pretty bland. We finished the night with a dessert that consisted of mochi, pineapple sorbet and honeycomb toffee. I usually like all of those things but this dessert just did not work at all with the three combined and we weren’t able to finish it. The pineapple sorbet itself was good, but I think the dessert menu could do without this one.The service was attentive and friendly and our food came out quickly. We would would come back for the other items on the menu we didn’t get a chance to try. (And the beef tartare + oysters)

Extra small dishes, expensive and not that good unfortunately.
