Very classic deli/diner experience, really enjoyed the food
I haven't been here for over 30 years, we stopped in before Rumors. I had the Classic Reuben and my lady had the Loaded Chicken Soup. The food was great the service was excellent even with the server forgetting my drink, my only complaint would be the price. Soup and sandwich $37 this goes against alot. I always state that I'll pay for quality but, it wasn't worth that price.
Delicious food reasonably priced.
Great pastrami sandwich. Really enjoyed their potatoe salad, I've never had one like it it was like mashed instead of chunks. Will come back and try more!!
Fantastic selection of goods! The staff are extremely friendly and helpful! I also tried out their all day breakfast (hungry man) and it was incredible! I will be back again and again!! 😊😊
It’s 1st time here. I have to say it was not what I expected. Smaller & Very outdated from mixed matched tables to decades old cutlery, dishe , plastic drinking glasses.food was mediocre. Overpriced. Classic Rueben was not classic, raw sourkraut not grilled (20 Gr.)& corned beef was microwaved on classics grilled(68 Gr). Hot mustard only in 1 spot on bread, instead of thousand island. Couldn’t taste Swiss cheese, I don’t even see any., grilled greasy rye bread, clubhouse was more lettuce & cheese, tomato, than meats. Disappointed, Was not impressed.
Also, the waitress had to run out to the store to buy a bag of ice, because they didn’t have ice in the restaurant. Apparently they don’t have room to store the ice.

Sad that you feel the need to insult a person who gave you a bad review. As for negative reviews I have given several positive reviews when they are worth positive reviews. I changed my review to 1 only because can’t leave you a Zero rating. You can be sure I will not step foot in this place again. As for the Rueben the sourkraut & corn beef was not grilled as in a classic Rueben the picture proves my review. Get over yourself Aaron! I’ll gladly accept my $45 back.
Little deli with a restaurant inside, friendly service and pretty clean.
If you tried Aroma bistro wontons, you can buy them here.
Great little spot to grab a delicious sandwich! Must go if you live near by, worth the walk.
Very disappointed from this deli and the workers I ordered food and at the place were maybe 5-6 people sitting , I was waiting for 30-40 minutes for grilled cheese I didn't received it soo I said to the staff the I'm out. Very disappointed
Been going here pretty often lately. Good food, reasonable prices.
The Deluxe Reuben, the Cabbage Borscht, and Matzo Ball soup are great.
I got the pickled tongue once. It looked and tasted suspiciously like thinly sliced pastrami or corned beef. In my experience tongue is usually a chopped meat, sometimes with aspic. I'm not saying that Bernstein didn't give me tongue, I'm just saying I probably wouldn't get tongue action from Bernstein in the future.
Edit: Thanks for the information, Aaron. I appreciate you doing so, and so quickly too. For what it's worth, it was still a good sandwich and a good cold-cut.
Thanks again
JS
One of my lifelong favourite spots, it breaks my heart to see that they don’t have a perfect 5 stars. Always for lunch and always a grilled cheese on rye to eat with the legendary cabbage borscht. Tastes and feels like home!
Every time I bring an out-of-towner here, they always want to go back!

Two friends and I met for breakfast this morning. Our server - I’ve forgotten her name - was delightful. She kept the coffee coming, she wrote our orders down correctly and was cheerful. I was especially happy when I saw my scrambled eggs were actually scrambled and not just a flat egg that was chopped up. There was plenty of butter on the toast, they certainly didn’t scrimp on that. The only wee complaint would be the temperature of the breakfast. I would have preferred it to be a little hotter. One thing that did impress me: my friend’s breakfast didn’t arrive the way she had ordered it. The server took it away to fix it. The chef/cook came to our table and apologized and said it was his mistake. All in all a great breakfast.
Recently, a couple of my coworkers and I ventured out to try Bernstein’s Deli, and we were all blown away by the experience. The entire vibe of the place was fantastic—the cozy atmosphere, the warm service, and, of course, the incredible food.
Even though the deli was absolutely slammed, which meant the service was a little slower than we would’ve liked, it was completely forgivable given how busy they were. The staff still managed to be friendly and attentive, which we appreciated.
I ordered the classic Reuben with a small matzah ball soup. Let me tell you—the soup was phenomenal! Warm, comforting, and bursting with flavor. The Reuben didn’t disappoint either; it was everything you’d expect from a classic deli sandwich and then some. My coworkers were equally impressed with their meals and kept raving about how good everything was.
I’m already planning to come back with my family. My wife was a little jealous when I told her about our outing, and I don’t blame her! Bernstein’s is definitely a spot worth sharing with loved ones. If you’re in the area, do yourself a favor and check it out—you won’t regret it.
Ordered 1/2 corned beef sandwich on rye with potato salad. Sandwich good. Potato salad was mostly inedible, had to leave over half uneaten since the majority was 2 very large hunks of potato with no dressing or flavour. Told serving waitress and waitress who removed finished plates, about it, with no response from them other than a sorry comment. At payment time, I asked the till person to remove that portion of the food order from the bill. Till person checked with both waitresses, and came back and said she would remove that charge. Bill total remained the same and when I questioned it, she said that they couldn't alter the bill amount since the potato salad was part of an order (and I guess, not the whole order?).
My husband's chicken schnitzel in the Illegal Curve sandwich was tough and dry and like a reheated leftover. However he never complained about it.
We also had an issue earlier this year when we were overcharged on all the items we had ordered. When I mentioned this at the till, I was told that the menus had been changed and we must have been given a menu that hadn't been updated yet. Continued to charge us the increased prices, instead of the prices shown in our menu. Pretty sketchy behaviour.
We usually eat here several times a year, but after this we won't be going back.
Classic deli food with lots of choice and customization possible. Service was very friendly and prompt. Our food arrived and did not disappoint. I had the deconstructed bagel with a generous portion of lox, lemon dill cream cheese, capers, sliced onions, tomatoes and cucumber. It was all fresh and tasty and I could assemble each half bagel how I wanted. Coffee is unlimited. My friend had a new offering of a schnitzel parm on a baguette type bun with side of Caesar salad. All delicious. Highly recommended...will be back!!!
