Friday evening, we came in for dinner. We had to ring the bell twice before anyone came to serve us. When the server finally came, we were told to wait again. After placing our order, we waited a long time and were not even provided with water until we specifically asked for it.

We understand that if a restaurant is busy, some delays are unavoidable. However, it was around 8 p.m., and there were only two tables dining at the time. The server seemed to stay in the kitchen most of the time.

If the kitchen is busy, perhaps you may consider hiring a kitchen assistant so the server can remain at the front to handle customers’ needs. A server should be available in the dining area and able to respond to guests promptly.

Even when we were ready to pay at the end of the meal, we had difficulty finding the server, as he
seemed to be in the kitchen most of the time.

We hope this feedback helps improve the service experience.

Absolutely the worst dining experience I’ve had in Winnipeg.

I went there yesterday with a friend, and it was shocking how much this place has declined. Compared to two years ago, portions have dramatically shrunk while prices have gone up significantly. Our bill for two people was $124.56 ($62.28 each), and we still left hungry — completely unacceptable for that price. I will be attaching the receipt.

🚫🚫🚫The “spicy sizzling squid” was $20.95 before tax, and it contained only 11 tiny, thin squid tentacles. That works out to roughly $2 per tentacle. The fried chicken portion was also extremely small (only 9 pieces) and tasted stale, like it had been sitting for a long time.

The restaurant itself was dirty, cluttered, and poorly maintained. It did not feel like a safe or sanitary place to eat.

What made this even worse is that both of us had diarrhea until the next day after eating here. This raises serious concerns about food safety and handling practices.

For the price they charge, the portions, cleanliness, and food quality are unacceptable. I genuinely do not understand how this place is still operating. I have already submitted our clinic visit record, receipts, and documentation to Manitoba Health for review.

This is our third time coming here and it doesn't disappoint! Our two favourites are the Lion King sushi and the sweet and salty chicken. The staff are nice and the service is overall good.

Had the squid stir fry and it was delicious and spicy. Sushi rolls were amazing too...

HORRIBLE service. They were fully staffed and had NO OTHER customers other than our family of 3. We ordered only 3 dishes and it took them over 45, yes FORTY FIVE, minutes to make it. Also they seemed very annoyed at our presence even though they didn’t make any effort to come and assist us with anything else. Would not recommend, don’t come to this restaurant.

In a word: gross. This used to be a solid little spot, and now it’s an absolute write-off. First thing we noticed? Flies. Everywhere. And once you see that many flies, you start to think… yeah, this place is dirty. Like, hasn’t-had-a-proper-scrub-since-opening-day dirty.

Then the sushi arrived. I should’ve sent it back immediately, but instead I just avoided the rolls that smelled off. Big mistake. I should’ve avoided the whole plate, because I spent the rest of my night in the bathroom watching my body aggressively reject every grain of rice it had been given.

Do yourself a favour and steer clear. This place shouldn’t be open.

Horrible sushi, the place was gross and meat was uncooked and hard. Would recommend if you want to throw up.

I ordered from them through DoorDash and the amount I had to pay was quite expensive. Its not BIMI’s fault. The food was good, but the portions were disappointing since I paid a lot. Would I try it again? Probably

As mentioned by a previous reviewer, i also find Bimi hit or miss. Unagi roll has pieces the size of a nickel in diameter ( no exaggeration). Shrimp in my dynamite roll today not deveined. Previous orders have been generally satisfactory but not consistently excellent.

I have to say this place is very hit or miss. I ordered the bulgogi as it looked quite delicious from their photo in the menu. When I received the bulgogi it looked anything but delicious. The meat was drenched in some sauce/broth; It looked soupy and gross. The meat looked like it was boiling in a pot overnight as it had a crumbly texture and little to no density to it. I also ordered shrimp tempura and I bit into one of the shrimp and it was not de-veined. After that I was not wanting to carry on finishing the meal. The service was also subpar as my partner received their meal first and there was about a 10 min gap before I received mine.

I recently had a disappointing takeout experience here, leading to my two-star rating. I ordered the Sakedon and the Korean Seafood Kimchi, and felt the overall value was not worth it. (About $38 before tip)

The Sakedon was underwhelming. For $18, I received a very small portion with just five pieces of salmon sashimi on a thin layer of rice. While the taste was decent, the size and quality didn't justify the price.

However, the Korean Seafood Kimchi was the biggest letdown. The tiny container was almost entirely filled with raw shaved onions, with very little seafood. The sauce was good, but the overwhelming amount of onion made it difficult to enjoy.

In addition to the food issues, my order was not ready on time. I was told it would be 20-25 minutes, but when I arrived 35-40 minutes later, it still wasn't ready. The staff seemed a bit frazzled, though they were friendly. Overall, the combination of subpar food quality and poor service left me feeling quite disappointed.
