Had such a great time at Block and Blade! We ordered the Thai noodle dish, chicken fingers, and the pepper soup — every single thing was fantastic. The flavors were on point, and everything tasted super fresh and well made. Even the chicken fingers were next level! We also had a few drinks, and they were awesome — really well done and paired perfectly with the food. The vibe was relaxed, the staff were super friendly, and the service was quick. Definitely one of my new favorite spots in Winnipeg. Can't wait to go back!
Love the cauliflower bites with gochujang (now listed under wings), and the pomegranate ginger margarita is my favourite cocktail in the city!
I have been to Block and Blade many times. Going on a Wednesday is an additional bonus due to half price bottles of wine! The food this time was the best I have ever had there. The servers were lovely and we were very pleased with the entire evening's experience.
Service needs to be better. They need to clear the table before they bring meals. Delivered our meals without clearing the plates and platters from our appetizers. We had to clear it for them.
We were greeted with warmth. The service was superb. Are food choices were perfectly prepared and flavourful. Our server was friendly and attentive. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.
Overall a decent experience. I would have appreciated being able to select a Dino g room table as the lounge wasn't where we wanted to be. When I reserved it only gave me one option. Second, ordered my steak medium rare and it came well done. I mentioned it to the server who handled it well and offered me a discount, but wanted to mention it as I've seen that in other reviews. We will give them a second try as they are local and the staff were amazing.
Atmosphere and ambience were excellent. A warm but windy night; we were a little sad the outdoor patio wasn't open. It's an enclosed space. Most food was excellent. Cajun Chicken and jam sandwich was mediocre. Too much sauce and not a jam in my opinion. Service was great. The women's restroom was very dirty. Water and toilet paper on the floor. Used paper towel on the floor.
Food was OK but a little pricey for what was ordered. Restaurant wasn't busy but service was a little slow. Would probably go back for the patio in the summer for drinks and appies.
Everything was wonderful as usual. Have had a few business and personal meetings at B&B and I'm never disappointed. Never rushed and able to enjoy good conversation and food with great service.
Had to ask waitress to take our order..she kept walking by & not checking in. I ordered Greek salad with steak...asked for medium rare steak, however, it was more medium well...no pink whatsoever. It was tender & salty, had a good flavor. I just ate it without causing any issue as I was there with a client. IF I return, I will complain if/when my meal isn't cooked as requested.

The food and service were both great. The assistant manager popped by to ensure all was good.

Server was not very attentive. Asked for pistachio margarita and was told would take 45 minutes to defrost matcha. Server didn't take the time to provide a great experience.
Prices are up there but at least food good and nice place to go out and have a good meal and a few drinks
One of our favourite places to go. One of the four meals (chicken Brie apple sandwich had too much tomatoe, couldn't taste the apple) was a bit weak, but everything else was great.
