Lovely place with super delicious food. We have had the same service twice now( I believe his name is Sean) and he is bubbly , funny and just a joy to have serving us . We ate in their outtdoor space which was beautiful and definitely insta worthy . If you’re looking for a cute breakfast date spot weather it be a partner or a bestie this is a great option.

Bluestone Cottage is one of those cozy little spots you stumble across once and then end up telling all your friends about. Tucked away on Roblin, right in the heart of Charleswood, this place has serious charm.
🍳 Food That Hits Just Right
Whether you're grabbing a full brunch or just a treat to-go, the food is top-tier. The shakshuka is rich and flavourful, their smoked salmon eggs benny is chef’s kiss, and don’t even get me started on the sourdough French toast—it’s borderline addictive. Their breakfast sandwich? A sleeper hit. Throw in some thick-cut bacon or avo, and boom—perfection.
🍰 Baked Goods That Deserve a Moment
Their cinnamon buns are dangerously good—soft, sticky, just sweet enough. They’ve also got muffins, scones, brownies, and more, all baked fresh and full of that homemade love. You can tell they actually care about their ingredients.
☕ Drinks With Personality
They don’t just serve coffee—they serve up an experience. From beet or turmeric lattes to refreshing hibiscus lemonade and strong espresso, you’re getting café vibes without the pretentiousness. The Frappa smoothie (cold espresso blended with vanilla) is worth the visit alone.
🏠 Cozy Vibes, Clean Space
Inside it’s all warm tones, wood accents, and local charm. It’s the kind of place where you feel welcome, whether you’re brunching with the crew or reading a book solo by the window. It’s got that mix of small-town café and modern Winnipeg aesthetic that just works.
🅿️ A Few Tips
Parking can be tight, especially on weekends. If you’re heading over during brunch hours, maybe roll in early or be ready to wait a few minutes. Totally worth it though. Service is friendly and attentive, even when it’s busy.

We went to this place for brunch. The quality and taste of the food was really great. Our server was very helpful and enthusiastic. They have good options for kids as well. We all enjoyed this cafe. This is a must go place.

We hosted our family and out of towners for a brunch at Bluestone Cottage the day after our wedding. We were grateful that they provided our group of around 30 people with a private space on the Alena side of the restaurant. Our guests absolutely raved about how wonderful the food was (in addition to the freshly squeezed juices!) - as each course of our family style meal came out, we were all in awe of how beautifully plated everything was in addition to how amazing it all tasted. Not to forget, how incredible and attentive each staff member was. We could not have asked for a better venue to end our wedding weekend at and are eager to find a reason to book more private events at Bluestone Cottage and Alena!! If you are looking for a restaurant to host a private event, we would highly recommend you reach out, you will not regret it!

We were very disappointed in the service we received today. We waited an hour for our food. When ordering, I asked for egg whites. The server told me that they don't have egg whites. They use egg whites on the Alena restaurant side and the yolk on their side. The most ridiculous thing I have ever heard considering the eggs we saw them serving. Of course you have both. She didn't know what a hard boiled egg was and kept referring to it as poached. The server never checked in on us in between and not once did we get an apology. Instead, she kept making jokes. When the food finally arrived, it was mediocre at best. My husband had the eggs and they were dry and the potatoes had no flavor. Definitely was worth the wait and irritation.

Disappointment would be and understatement restaurant took on way too many customers so had to wait for a table. Then waited for a long long time for the food to arrive and when it did it was spectacularly disappointing, harsh browns where burnt, the other meal was watery and lacked depth and flavor..... sad 😔
