Two of our party enjoyed their meals as usual. One of our party ordered the soup and crab bites. The soup was fine, but the 5 crab bites were inedible. They were extremely fishy and not up to this restaurant’s normal standard. When this was mentioned to the server, she said she would speak to the kitchen. 25 minutes later, she came back and asked how our meal was. We told her everything was good, apart from obviously the crab bites. She then told us that the kitchen had said that there was nothing wrong with them. The aquatic biologist at the table tasted the first crab bite, and would not touch the rest. 5 minutes later, she came and asked if we wanted to take the 4 remaining crab bites home. She was told that of course we would not like to take them home, to be realistic, that they were disgusting. 5 minutes later, she came and asked 2 members of the party if they wanted anything else, and ignored the third who had ordered the crab bites. She then stated that she had removed the crab bites from the bill.

Food was good. Our server was prompt and curtious. Good drinks as well. Hostess (a little aloof) sat us at a set 2 top. Later, she sat a couple at a large booth set for 4. We inquired when sat, if we could sit at the booth instead - she was confused.

"Wow! What an incredible dining experience at Capital Grill! My husband and I recently visited, and we couldn't be more impressed. From the moment we walked in, the service was top-notch and friendly. Despite not having a reservation, we were warmly greeted and seated promptly. The atmosphere was clean and peaceful, making for a delightful evening. The menu offered a wide variety of options, and we both found something we loved. I opted for the short rib, and every bite was bursting with flavor, with a hint of rosemary that left me craving more. My husband thoroughly enjoyed his New York Steak salad, packed with wild mushrooms, asparagus, romaine lettuce, tomatoes, and blue cheese. The price was also a great reason why we will be back. This is one of my favorite restaurants in Winnipeg. The food is always delicious and done to perfection. I go with friends for lunch and family for dinners.The staff and owners are amazing, with great advice and suggestions. Date night for a couple of old farts. My wife had the soup of the day (chicken potato with a hint of chipotle) and the popcorn shrimp while I had the same soup and the fish and chips. Everything was fabulous. The soup had a bit of a kick to it, the shrimp were perfectly prepared, the fish and chips was huge. Fish was delicious, deep fried but moist and glistening inside with house made fries and tartar sauce.For dessert, 2 Spanish coffees, something we’ve found that few bars know how to make nowadays.Our server, Alexa?, was thoroughly knowledgeable and provided excellent service!This was our first visit to this establishment and we will definitely be back.
