Amazing food, completely renovated and is a great place to go for a date, drinks with friends or a large group party. Friendly staff.

Sept 27th, 2024. The waitress did a great job. The food was served nice and hot. Everything tasted great. Had the cod, haddock plate with onion rings, and coleslaw.

We were looking forward to fish for supper but no more halibut and no pickerel. Heck, we didn't even get the cole slaw that usually comes with the meal. Ordered haddock. The coffee and French fries were delicious and that's all I have to say.

The seafood chowder is chock full of seafood; it's thick and delicious. I would highly recommend it. I shared the combo plate and there was certainly enough for two. The fries are really good. I will go back there.

Best fish 'n' chips in town in my opinion and for the price... most expensive thing on the menu is about 22$ if I recall. Just best place eat!

We recently tried the Captains Table after a recommendation from a friend. We all ordered the Captains combo plates and I must say we were not disappointed. Our server was very attentive, pleasant and friendly. The food portions are huge and were cooked to perfection. The fish was fresh, the batter crispy, but moist and flaky inside and the shrimp cooked perfectly. Someone commented that the fish comes out of a box and this is utterly false. I am an avid fisherman and regularly make fish and chips at home and know fresh fish, and their fish is NOT out of a box. In fact I would say this is likely the best fish and chips I’ve ever had in a Winnipeg restaurant since the old Jim’s Fish and Chips closed up over 30 years ago. We would definitely come back again, great service, nice atmosphere, huge portions cooked to perfection, and very reasonably priced, highly recommended.

Coleslaw was amazing. Onion rings were really good however, they were all stuck together. Pickerel had a bad smell and absolutely no flavor. Please check the quality and expiration of fish before serving it. It tasted like it was prepared months prior and sat in the freezer. The decor is dated but to be honest creates a nice nautical atmosphere. I really looked forward to having a good piece of fish, but sadly this place did not deliver.

Generous portion for the price and quick service. The shrimp, fries, and wings were delicious but I would skip anything pickerel.

I wish you guys knew how much money you can make opening for lunch. Opening at 3 makes no sense to me. Who orders fish and chips on a Tuesday at 1 am? This place should be opened at 11am to 10 pm

The days of classic fish and chips shops are dwindling. This is an absolute favorite for me. I always choose cod and neglected to take photos but the cod is fantastic, the batter is crisp and not overly greasy. However the shoestring fries are absolutely fantastic. I highly recommend Captain's table!

Disappointed: they did not have Halibut, where other restaurants did. (Fergies did) They also did not have any beef & barley soup. We dine at many restaurants in Wpg & drive across the city to The Captains Table. But I don't think we will be going back.
