We started with the beet and goat cheese salad to share, it was fantastic. We both had the top sirloin, 7 and 10 oz. The wild rice pilaf was done perfectly and the steak was just the right amount of pink. Our server was attentive but not overly so. We barely had room for dessert but we had it anyhow and the coffee was phenomenal, strong but not bitter.
We were looking forward to a nice evening out at Chop restaurant but it was disappointing. We ordered martinis and our drinks came in the smallest martini glass known to mankind. We let that issue go. Our meals came and both of our meals came over cooked-halibut was dry because it was over cooked. My steak was to have been medium and it came out well done no pink at all. The rolled up cutlery in the napkin came without a fork. Overall our evening out was a a disappointment. Will we go back?? Maybe, just to be fair, maybe it was just an off night or maybe not.
A few hiccups but, overall, it was handled with the great service that Chop offers. The food was delicious as always! Thanks!
I'll start end end with he best part. The appetizer was the ‘Chili Garlic Shrimp'. Let me say OMG delicious. Nice heat from the chilis and really well cooked. For desert we had ‘FLOURLESS CHOCOLATE TORTE'. One of the best deserts we have had. Just the right amount of sweetness mixed with the flavour of the amaretto. The entree's were disappointing. I had the rib steak and she had steak and lobster. The temperatures of the steaks were dead on. The cook know his temps. But there wasn't a lot of flavour to the steak. The lobster tail was a strange color and quite small. To be honest I had a better steak at lobster at a Roadhouse in steinbach last week. I ate the meal, and it wasn't horrible or bad enough to send back. But just wasn't what I expected. But like I said they ended on a high note. I really wished I had tried the Halibut. The service was 5 star for sure. Really nice greeting and attentiveness. They even gave us a tuna tartar as a welcome for our first visit. Would I go back? Yes I would. Just next time I'll get the Halibut.
Excellence service and food. Was very quiet, but there were few patrons there. Food came quick, was very good. Service personnel were outstanding, extremely attentive.
Great Service and food was fantastic it was the perfect spot for our business Dinner. Will be back for sure.
Fabulous food & service! Manager gave us complimentary amuse bouche of Ahi Tuna Tataki (delish!) Server was super attentive & friendly. Steaks were cooked to perfect medium-rare. Sides were yummy & desserts were perfect size to end the meal. We will be back!
We chose to eat in the lounge because it was quieter and less crowded. We both had the 7 oz. steak and baked potatoes. Our steaks were prepared to perfection and baked potatoes were as well. Our waitress was attentive but not intrusive. The cocktails were delicious. We will certainly be returning!
Great service from a gracious host who accommodated our requests in a timely and efficient manner!

So this chop location is just like I remember it from many years ago excellent! When I stay in Winnipeg for business, I often will stay at the Holiday Inn Polo Park. This is 800 m walking distance from the hotel so if I’m gonna have some cocktails, it’s an easy walk. This evening I sat at the bar, had an excellent meal and a couple of drinks as well. I definitely enjoyed one of their feature meals. It was a sirloin top with wild mushrooms, and. Truffle mashed potatoes. Great side of vegetables as well. I had an old-fashioned, Stella and topped the night off with a whiskey sour. The bar is well equipped, and able to make pretty much any drink. I think you can ask them too.
If you’re staying at the Holiday Inn, it’s well worth the walk guys.

Dined in on a Friday evening with a group of about 18 adults. We had a table of 8 and our server was Quinn. Quinn was one of the best servers I have had in a restaurant in a long time. He was friendly and upbeat. He was attentive without being intrusive. When there was a slight problem with one of the orders he made sure it was rectified quickly. A pleasure to have him serving us. As for the food, it was very good. Again. We are never disappointed. I tried the Ahi Tuna Tataki for the first time and it was the best I've had. Fresh and tender. And we had great steaks that were done exactly the way we wanted them. Chop is our definite "go-to" when it comes to high end dining.
