My grandma always used to get her bread at City Bread when she lived at 269 Dufferin Avenue (this was back in the 1990s. This was also when the high rise was still a seniors 55+ apartment), since it was very close to her. Sometimes, she would buy a loaf of pumpernickel bread or 2 for me, since that's my favorite bread.

Supreme Seed Rye rocks!
It's a well known fact that City Bread has THE best rye bread in town.

The BEST cocktail pumpernickel. We travel across the city to get it. We tried rye bread this time and it was great. Sourdough always good too. Staff very friendly always.

I used to live in Winnipeg and loved the original Winnipeg rye bread from City Bakery. In Courtenay, BC, I can only but the fake stuff at Superstore from Natural Barkery. Could you please see if you can get Superstore to carry your rye bread? I miss it so much. Thanks Peter

March 2023As a tourist in Winnipeg, I came here to buy some rye bread to take home with me. I heard that it was excellent.I walked here, but left empty handed.I read the review by THE Wilter, and my viewpoint is the same. I am not supporting this business with conditions like this.I went to The Forks, and bought my rye bread at the Tall Grass Prairie Bread Company instead. And their Sourdough Rye bread was delicious!

Limited choices. Super terrible noise and garbage pollution with terrible attitude towards their adjacent housing neighbors.Acting like the lady light haired manager could care less about the economically challenged in the neighborhood. Not to mention the children, babies (newborns), elders and over 500 adjacent humans living right there with the fan going non-stop (it's a giant one). Trucks being pounded by hammers for like 20 to 30 minutes everyday anytime between 5 am to noon. Yeesh! If you complain to them they may threaten you as well. This place gets a 10 on 'Aporophobia'.??

I have recently bought the supreme seed bread and I believe this is one of their best product beside other products.
