This morning around 9:30, I came in and waited in line behind a few customers. One of the customers ahead of me was deaf and was trying to place his order by writing it down on a piece of paper.

Unfortunately, the employee at the till handled the situation very poorly. She was visibly frustrated, rolling her eyes and raising her voice because communication was taking a little extra time.

Both the man in front of me and I noticed the interaction, and I was honestly shocked by how it was handled.

As someone who works in the service industry and has served many hard-of-hearing customers, I understand that these situations may require a bit more patience. However, patience and basic respect should be expected when working with the public.

If someone is unwilling to make an effort to accommodate customers, especially those with disabilities, they may not be suited for a customer-facing role.

The only reason I’m giving two stars is because the coffee itself is decent.

Ive been a customer of the daily grind for quite some time. the drinks are great and have a home-made touch to them, aswell as the food.
However, i'm completely disgusted with the treatment of staff by the one of the older managers. I came to order a drink during a rush and couldn't help but overhear the manager in the back cussing at and belittling the employees. Calling them stupid, slow, etc and swearing at them.
This is not the first time I’ve overheard this, and other people i know have seen and heard this as well. The older chef is always the one i see being incredibly hostile, maybe its time he retires…
I refuse to give my money and business to a place that treats their employees like they aren't people.
It’s disgusting, do better.

Good food, good coffee, friendly staff. Only reason i’m giving 3 stars is the parking lot, every-time I go it’s completely full and all the other parking spot around it are reserved for tenants. So I have to park in a completely different place and walk. Make’s it a but tedious especially during winter. Otherwise it’s an awesome place!

An absolute gem of a place to relax and spend your time either having a drink with friends or by yourself! I would definitely recommend the Hungarian Mushroom soup if you ever visit. The staff are so nice and the atmosphere here makes you want to return for another cup of coffee and a delicious bowl of that soup!

Food is ok. Not great for the price that I'd recommend. Bread is nothing special. Cheesecake brownie was mushy. I don't know how long it has sat in the fridge.

Friendly and welcoming service. Spacious, comfortable seating. I can see parking difficult being shared with the other business's in the area. We found parking on the upper level parkade.

One of my favourite cafes to sit and do work at. It’s a fairly busy spot sometimes, but there’s always a table free (near an outlet as well)

I love having this little gem within walking distance whenever I need a delicious coffee, sandwich or pastry. Their sandwiches are made on the most delicious focaccia bread, everything is so good and the staff are wonderful! A local coffee place far superior to any of the chains, and deserves all the Winnipeg love!

Hadn’t been here for a few years as I live in the south east of the city and it’s out of the way. Decided to take the kids today on the holiday. This place has been in need of an update inside for years but the food as always made that irrelevant. We’ve loved their food forever and always wished there were more locations but today we were very disappointed. Not sure if it’s due to the cost of everything these days but the Che roasted chicken sandwich had almost no chicken and my kids were left with mostly bread. Also there was very little sauce so it was very dry. My roast beef sandwich although also dry and a little more meat but still minimal. Paid over $35 for 2 sandwiches and 2 canned drinks so would appreciate a nice full sandwich for that price.

Daily Grind Coffee is one of the best cafés in the city. The coffee is consistently excellent—smooth, flavorful, and clearly made with fresh, high-quality beans. Whether it’s a cappuccino, latte, or their seasonal specialties, every drink is carefully prepared and always hits the mark.

The food selection is equally impressive, with fresh pastries, delicious sandwiches, and healthy options that make it easy to grab both a snack and a satisfying meal. Everything tastes homemade and complements the drinks perfectly.

The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with plenty of natural light, comfortable seating, and a calm vibe that works well for studying, working, or catching up with friends. The décor is modern yet cozy, and small details like soft background music make the space even more enjoyable.

What truly sets Daily Grind apart is the customer service. The staff are friendly, approachable, and attentive, making every visit feel personal and welcoming. Even at busy times, they remain professional and efficient.

Overall, Daily Grind Coffee combines quality, comfort, and community in the best way possible. A true five-star café that I highly recommend!
