Excellent meal, Drake was fantastic and a fun atmosphere with excellent wine pairings!
My impression of the restaurant is not clear. At first glance, the interior design is interesting, but at the same time there is a bright smell of mold and dampness, as if after a flood. At first glance, the professional staff who talks about each dish, on the other hand, the arrogance of the hostesses and did not ask how we want to pay the bill. The portions were small and the price was too high. It is not possible to order 1 dish, you need to take a set of 4 positions and this is at least $ 90. My impressions were mixed.
Top 100 in Canada how??? I’m urging anyone who reads this review to try Petit Socco, Né de Loup or Passero before this restaurant. The service, ambiance and food were below average. We did the wine pairing, only for the server(s) to bring us the same wine twice for a pairing. Our service was not consistent, and there were 3+ people serving our table which added to the confusion of which wines we had already tried and they were unsure of who ordered which dish or where to place it. Any restaurant I’ve been too where there are multiple dishes, refresh your cutlery throughout the meal. Our cutlery was only changed before dessert, which was not ideal. I would not recommend this restaurant, and I will not return.
Wow! Very sophisticated for the discerning palate. Enjoyed it greatly.
It’s never a miss here for the food and service! We came with a large party for my friend’s bachelorette and the staff was very accommodating for us. The food tasted amazing (as always) and the atmosphere was great!
Shoutout to our server!
We were really looking forward to dining here, especially given its reputation as one of the top-rated restaurants in Canada. Unfortunately, our experience was deeply disappointing — especially for a place of this caliber.
We had noted a gluten-free dietary restriction on our reservation, as the restaurant specifically requests this in advance. Despite that, when we arrived, it was clear no one had read or prepared for it. Our server was unsure which dishes were gluten-free and had to check with the kitchen multiple times — which might have been understandable at a casual place, but for a restaurant with this reputation, it felt disorganized and inattentive.
It’s a four-course tasting menu, and I was shocked at the lack of flexibility. The first course had only one option (bison), which I don’t eat, and the final course had no gluten-free options at all. The server showed no interest in trying to accommodate us and didn’t offer any alternatives or substitutions. While he didn’t say it outright, the attitude was essentially: not my problem.
The only redeeming part of the experience was the drinks — they were excellent. But unfortunately, that’s all we ended up having before we left hungry and disappointed.
We wanted to love this place, and maybe others have had a better experience, but ours fell far below expectations, especially when it comes to hospitality and accommodating dietary needs. I hope they take feedback like this to heart — because right now, the experience doesn’t match the hype.
Such an amazing spot! Staff are wonderful, food is amazing, and you really get a sense of what the Winnipeg scene has to offer. Definitely give this place a visit!
Perfect food, delicate and intelligent wine pairing, perfect service, genuinely one of the best meals I have eaten in Canada--gets a little loud in the small room
An amazing dining experience. Creative and delicious. If you consider yourself a foodie you need to dine here.
The taste for all the dishes are outstanding but if you are a gymer, hungry , the tasting menu might not be for you. Really good experience though

I was there with my son and his wife. We had a good time, the food good such of our expectations. The ambiance was cozy, the only negative point was the service. To improve the experience, they should have people dressed a certain way instead of being eclectic. The overall rate for me is 9/10.

Went here for a birthday celebration dinner and the experience was great overall! A bit on the pricier side, but considering it is a tasting menu I thought it was worth it. Of note, the grilled peaches and A5 wagyu were especially AMAZING. You do have to pay extra (+99) for the wagyu, but taste wise I highly recommend it. The ambience was great too, perfect for one on one dinners, although it wasn’t too loud event if there were bigger groups. Our server was really helpful and friendly, and was very attentive. I had a blast, so I will definitely back and maybe try the wine pairing menu next!
Great food, everything was amazing! Staff was very polite and nice! Atmosphere was great & would definitely come back!

Wow, what a dining experience. I normally go home thinking I could have made that better for less at home. This is not the case at Deer + Almond. Each course out did the last! Unique and very well prepared. Likely the best sit down meal in Winnipeg!
