Had an exceptional service experience. Waitresses were very attentive. There was a huge variety of food for the buffet. All the food was delicious.

I visited East India Pub and Eatery with my family today, and it was an absolute disaster. The food was not just bad; it was likely spoiled, as we all came home with severe stomach issues. I personally have been dealing with gas and discomfort since we got back. To make matters worse, there was a fly sitting on the food, which is a huge hygiene red flag.
On top of that, there was an older lady—who I don’t know if she was the manager or owner—walking around the restaurant being very rude. One employee informed her about the fly on our food, and she simply said she couldn’t do anything. Even while paying the bill, she was trying to force me to leave a tip. She said that usually other restaurants add 15–20% tip automatically, but she didn’t; she left it up to me. When I explained that tipping is my choice, she continued pressuring me, which was completely disrespectful.
This experience was extremely disappointing, and I would not recommend this place to anyone, especially families with kids. Between the poor hygiene, bad food, and rude staff, this was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had

Everytime I visit Winnipeg I stop in here. Amazing selection of Indian food makes this one of the best buffets around.

We've been going here over 20 years and it is by far the best Indian food. The buffet is amazing with so many options, everything from various chicken dishes to shrimp, mussels in creamy sauce, lamb, butter chicken, beef vindaloo etc. The rice has improved as it was a little crunchy at one time but is perfect now. There is a lot of vegetarian, salad and desert items. Also, fresh baked naan is also included in the buffet now. The food is always hot and fresh and the different spices and flavors cannot be compared to any other Indian restaurant we have been to. The decor is great and transports you to India with all the items brought over and has a wonderful ambiance. Sachit and his parents always made everyone feel welcome and his mom and he now run things as his father passed. It is our favorite restaurant.

Amazing food, drink, and courteous attentive staff as always. The buffet selection is plentiful and varied, with an amazing selection of both meat and veg options, as well as deserts.

Since 2013 we have not visited East India restaurant, however, we did come back this year and the food was awful. They have the exact same food as years ago but now with the prices doubled, and the food was clearly old. The whole place was empty and lacked a a welcoming atmosphere.

My favourite Indian food buffet in Winnipeg. Very fresh, delicious and nice variety! Bonus points for a good dessert selection and the fact they label every dish, making it easy for those with allergies. Friendly and quick service too. Highly recommend this place when downtown!

I grew up in BC and lived in Surrey where there is a high concentration of excellent Indian restaurants. Upon moving back to Winnipeg I was shocked to discover East India company beat them all I have been a loyal patron for over 20 years now. I hope they are around for another 20 more
