Best Fried Butter Chicken in the City!Recently went to this restaurant with my family and their butter fried chicken was amazing! We also got a few other dishes as well but wow I will definitely go back when I’m in the city again! The staffs were also very polite! You gotta check this place out if you are craving for Chinese food!
If the ratings allowed for 4.5 that's what I would put. This place gives out generous proportions and the quality of the food ingredients is fantastic. Their fried rice is amazing! On a whole other level, it's cooked well, not greasy or hard to chew. The mushroom pieces and other vegetables scattered in the mound of rice are yummy and fresh tasting. The sweet and sour sauce is delicious and not too salty. The crispy shrimp was fried in a way that made the seafood meat inside soft and easy to eat. I recommend the combo platter for about 20 dollars. I took out the chow mein and egg rolls. I just wanted the shrimps and rice and it was the right choice for my dietary needs. This place is an emerald gem of Chinese cuisine!

My family and I have been coming to this place for the last 14 years now, but ever since they had a new owner, prices have literally sky rocketed since the last time we were there in August. The fried rice isn’t the same, it was more dry, and the smell from the food wasn’t as good as before. And while we were eating we overheard the servers complaining about another table “only giving a $5 tip” once they walked out the door. Service was okay, it was fast. Would i be coming back again? Most likely not.

My fried rice was burned. I mentioned to the person serving our table, they just apologized. Never going back. I used to like their food. Two previous occasions, we got there an hour before closing and they said they were done for the day. I am done with this

No buttery-oniony taste. The special fried rice just tasted ashy and burnt. Food has become bland with no flavour at all. Hopefully they find their flavour again with the new owners as previous owners retired.

Ever since Ming left, the food hasnt been the same. For those who dont know Emerald is now under new ownership, and personally the butter chicken, that which they were known for, is pretty inconsistent. I've ordered it 3 times now, and 2 out of the 3 times it was lacking the butter taste. If you think some of their food was bland before you should think again because this was even more so than ever. The fried rice was also lacking the smokey flavour it used to have, and the chow mein was a little too salty for me. Maybe it was all by chance but its getting consistent at being inconsistent for me. They also hiked the prices up a bit, I guess that was bound to happen but still. Also new owners are a little slow with the service.

Every time I call, I can NEVER get through! Once actually, I was able to make an order via telephone but three times after that, I cannot get through. You are going to lose customers over this. If you don't offer delivery, at the very least make it easy for your customers to place an order by telephone.
