Better ice cream than Dug & Betty's, and that's saying a lot!

I love Fête. Their hard ice cream is my favorite in the city. They also serve baked goods and coffee. Staff is always very friendly and helpful.

First time here and it was ok.
I sampled the strawberry rhubarb crumble and it had a very simple but bland flavour i think because the sample i got had no strawberry or any toppings, i also sampled the sweet cream which was good. I ended up just getting the sweet cream which of course is a basic flavour but more elevated than a vanilla in my opinion.

Parking kind of sucked here as well.

I didn't see the sign on the door, my bad, it was close to closing but i was holding my dog as we entered. I was distracted by the dog wall of fame. The worker did tell us they don't allow dogs inside which we complied. However, I ordered ice cream for 7 different people and only realized that they actually give free ice cream to dogs which was never offered to my dog? I guess its a pick and choose which dogs and customers get ice cream for the day?

I'll probably skip this place next time i'm in Winnipeg

The ice cream cake was a hit with the person it was for and guests. There were comments on how pretty and unique it was for an ice cream cake. The ice cream melted like real ice cream and that was satisfying but I found flavor was lacking, I don't think the others did, or not as much as I did anyway. Maybe a flavor other than vanilla would be different, I don't know. Take out service was excellent from start to finish, I haven't been inside. One thing that really irritated me is the automatic minimum tip. It was take out, #1 and secondly I don't like automatic tipping. The cake was $32, the tip 10% minimum. I'll gladly pay $35 for the cake, just charge what it costs, pay people a living wage and don't nickel and dime me to death. For that reason alone I am not very likely to return, nor to refer anyone.

I loved this place. I went today and you have removed the gluten-free labels on your ice creams. Gluten-free or gluten-friendly whatever put a disclaimer. It's hard enough being celiac, I don't need to try and remember everything your staff says quickly about each item. A family before me also left the store without ordering, perhaps because of the same reason. Put gluten friendly and be done with it. I may or may not be back as it's annoying enough to deal with crappy gluten-free food to have to debate on the few things we can eat!
