Fergies Fish N Chips

The fish and chips were amazing. The fish was perfectly cooked and not at all oily. The family pack was a good deal. We really enjoyed our experience at the Forks.

I love fergies fish and chips, I haven't found a better place in the city yet. Pickerel fries and gravy perfection.

Some restaurants over do it with the batter and some places give you tiny servings. Ferries is just right and the seafood chowder is worth a try as well.

I brought a friend along who has dietary restrictions (she’s Muslim and eats halal). After she ordered and was already holding her food, she asked one of the staff if the food was halal. Instead of giving a respectful or informative answer, the staff replied with sarcasm and an odd tone: “Oh no, we use beer in the batter too.”

It wasn’t just the content of the reply, it was the way it was said. As if the question was dumb, or she should’ve just known. No apology. No suggestion for alternatives. Just pure sarcasm after she’d already paid and was ready to eat. This isn’t about demanding halal food, it’s about common courtesy and basic awareness. When someone clearly has a dietary concern, especially after the fact, the least you can do is respond respectfully, not mockingly. And frankly, if beer is used in the batter, that should be clearly communicated up front or at least handled with care if someone asks.

Fergie’s will always be known for their food, but I really hope the staff can be reminded that not every customer fits the same mold, and people deserve to be treated with decency especially when it comes to what they’re putting in their bodies.

The best fish n chips I've had to date.

They were perfectly fried to a golden brown chrispyness that was close to that of a potato chrisp with just the right amount of salt to elevate the flavor of the Halibut.

The tarter sauce had the perfect tang to it to pull it all together, but I also had some plain, and you can't go wrong with either choice.

It was just absolutely delicious, and I would come again if I wasn't 7 thousand km away.

Go here if you want to experience racism. The lady at the counter will take every white person’s order before you with a smile. She will ignore you as she doesn’t see brown color only whites! 😊

I enjoyed the fish very much. I would have loved the batter to be crunchier on the outside, as it should be. The staff was friendly, and the forks always have great vibes.

Where the pickerel literally melts in your mouth, it's that freaking delicious 😋 😍 💞 one of the Forks Market best restaurants to eat!!! We ordered the 3 pc Hearty Fish & Chips deal for just iver $20.00 plus the $3.75 to make it a poutine smothered with an ungodly amount of cheese curds and mouth watering gravy to share with each other. 5 Stars for a #DateNightDoneRight
