My favourite spot for coffee in Winnipeg. Friendly staff, excellent coffee, and great location šŸ‘šŸ‘ā˜•ā˜•

Always such a great place to visit and grab drinks. I always look forward to their seasonal stuff - it actually tastes like what they say it is and not just overly sweet. The depth and flavour of their drinks is so worth it. Pleasant staff as well.

My favorite coffee shop by far! All the drinks are excellent and very nice service. Lattes, mochas, matcha lattes are the best. Definitely go!!

Customer service was horrible especially for the girl with black hair, black frame glasses, and colorful highlights. It's like we owe her a million dollars.

Every time I go here to get an iced americano it tastes burnt. I usually get the larger size and if you order it as is, it’s very weak. You definitely need an extra shot (which the staff even recommends) but alas at an up charge.

I work close by and visit this location often for the last couple years..the coffee is always good, and the location is beautiful. The reason for 3 stars is the service. Half of the people that work there have little people skills, and it feels as though simply ordering a coffee is a nuisance.
However, today there was a newer barista there named Emma. She was very friendly and gave this place new hope for some friendly customer service. Can only think of one other lady who works there who smiles.
Will keep coming back, but definitely something the owners should watch out for.

When staff made the espresso I saw the process of espresso extraction had a ā€œchanneling effectā€ that causeĀ the uneven extraction.

Furthermore, the staff made the expresso over 30ml of liquid….

The Americano taste bitter & burnt.

Hi Ben,

First, I want to express my appreciation for your matcha latte – it's my favorite. However, I am deeply disturbed by the behavior of your baristas, which I can only describe as discriminatory and unprofessional. I visit your store twice a week, but I will no longer be returning due to the unacceptable treatment I have received. This is not an isolated incident; it happens every time.

On one occasion, I ordered a cold matcha latte. The barista with black hair and green ombre gave me a hot one. When I politely mentioned the mistake, she immediately raised her voice and used a demeaning tone, saying, ā€œNo, you did NOT ask for it iced. You asked for a regular matcha latte.ā€ I was shocked by her aggressive response. I had approached her calmly and didn’t even ask for a new drink. She then told me to "be careful next time." This level of hostility is entirely inappropriate and uncalled for.

Today, I decided to give your store another chance. On July 3, I ordered a 16oz matcha latte and was charged $6.16. Today, July 4, around 9-10 am, for the same order, I was charged $7.07. When I asked the barista with short blonde hair about the price difference, she treated me with disdain, as if I were trying to scam the store for a few cents. This is beyond insulting. All I wanted was a simple explanation for the discrepancy. Instead, she showed me the screen, stating $7.07 was correct and blamed me, suggesting I might have ordered something different. When I asked if the price in the machine was different from the board, she responded condescendingly, explaining that $5.50 was before tax, as if I didn't know how tax works or had never been to a coffee shop before. Her unwillingness to clarify the pricing and her accusatory tone were unprofessional and disrespectful.

What’s worse is that I am not the only one experiencing this treatment. My Asian friends have also felt targeted by your baristas. Their unwelcoming and confrontational attitudes suggest a pattern of racial bias. It feels like they are always ready to pick a fight with us over minor issues and blame us as customers.

I don't know if you care enough to address this serious issue, but this experience has compelled me to leave this review. This discriminatory behavior is unacceptable, and it must be addressed immediately.

Usually great coffee and special lattes but the last couple of times I’ve gone the barista has steamed the milk so hot that it’s unpleasant to carry the cup and it also messes up the milk foam layer on the top. Maybe they need some more training but I’m going back to TB next time.

I love that they make their own syrups, and a lot of care seems to be put into their feature drinks. Their standard dark roast is not to my taste, but they often have delicious lighter roasts on drip as well. Their matcha and london fogs are also top notch.

This location serves a lot of offices, so at times the line can be pretty long. Considering that the beverages are hand made, they're reasonably efficient. And if you catch them between a rush, you can be in and out real quick.

Great drink, very disappointed with the service. I am never one to write reviews (despite my first name lol), and I usually give customer-facing workers the benefit of the doubt having worked in this type of job previously, but the service I was provided was beyond disappointing.

I’m usually nervous to get my order wrong, so I placed my order literally reading off the drink menu work-for-word, and kindly asked for an iced matcha tea latte. I was given a hot matcha tea latte and I responded gently, ā€œoh I asked for it to be icedā€; I was immediately met with a raised voice and demeaning tone from the barista who said ā€œNo you did NOT asked for it iced. You asked for a regular matcha latteā€. I felt shocked by her response, embarrassed and stupid to even complain. So I put my head down, said ā€œit’s okay I’ll take itā€ and walked away with the drink that I didn’t originally order. The barista said ā€œwe can make you a new oneā€ but it was still said with a tone that was not genuine and seemed like a major inconvenience if I were to accept that.

As I walked away, I couldn’t shake off the feeling of embarrassment after the fact. I decided to leave the building altogether. Although a short interaction, her lack of customer service has caused me to never want to return to this location.

I live in 225 Carlton for over a year now and would get my morning coffee here 3-4 times a week. Today was my last straw. I love fools and horses coffee but your barista with funky hair is very unwelcoming. She always seems annoyed and gives attitude when taking and making our order. So bad that when I go down for coffee I would hope she’s not there and when she is, I just know it would ruin my morning. Oh and I have the stamp card, which also annoys her that she has an extra step to do.

Oh almost forgot to review, I had a great experience with a freckled brunette individual. Super knowledgeable and helpful, ngl I didn't really know that this much went into my drink. But hey, the more you know! //*Insert finger gunz here// they seem to really like it there. Good job cafe.

Came for a coffee on a friend's recommendation. Just to be met with a sign that says on break till 11:10, despite being 11:45. No coffee no service. Disappointed.

On January 30th, I walked over to your establishment with a coworker for an afternoon coffee. When we arrived there were several people waiting for their orders. I noticed a sign by the cash that said you were closed at 3pm, I said to my coworker that it was 2:58. At this point one of your staff just glared at us to the point where I said to my coworker we could go somewhere else. We definitely did not feel welcome to purchase anything. That staff member grabbed the sign then slammed it on the case next to the cash and said what do you want? Now if she had said they had already shut the equipment down, no problem we would have went elsewhere. My bad for not getting there sooner. We did end up ordering a vanilla latte and an iced chai latte, well wouldn't you know when I got back to the office no vanilla in my coffee. This was not a very good experience and awful customer service. I think I will brave the cold and walk to Tom Bargen, I have never felt unwelcome there or been treated that way.
