The beef curry is a scam. It’s vegetable kinda curry, actually I wouldn’t say it’s a curry at all, with flakes or mouse droppings of ground beef.

This is the best brunch I've ever had in Winnipeg! Pickle sandwich was so good ? It's worth the long wait

Nice place , parking is pretty good with a lot and stret parking. Not a big place , quaint. Small menue witch I find a good thing. Make a few things well instead of a lot so so...
Sandwich was a bit small but tasty and made with quality ingredients . The soup on the other had was aweful and watery. Skip the soup !!!! Coffee was very good .

The French Way Cafe is an awesome spot. Right down Corydon, next to a bunch of other great shops to check out while you're waiting or afterwards to round out your morning.

The 2 biggest downsides are the wait times, and the prices. The wait times are due to the popularity and relatively small restaurant size, plan ahead, skip this place at peak brunch times as the wait can be daunting.

The prices seem to just be the way the world is. Don't get me wrong the food is great, but for $16-20 a main dish plus coffee, it's hard to justify on a regular basis for delicious, but somewhat small and uncomplicated dishes.

We were at this place for the first time on the weekend afternoon and it was quite crowded, we were able to sit down at the table only when we returned for the second time. I ordered an apple strudel, but after a while the waiter came back and said that someone had taken the last piece, so I chose a warm cake with spinach and cheese, which I really liked warm. And the second order were crepes with turkey and brie cheese and it was yummy.

We are still planning to go back to the apple strudel.

My 8-year-old and I are on a quest to find the yummiest cinnamon bun. The one here was still five stars but not our favorite, still loved the cafe and definitely want to come back sometime. We would recommend it to anyone who wants a cute atmosphere, yummy food, and a nice experience overall. They have lots of amazing looking baked goods, so we will come again to try them sometime.

Kid-friendliness: I felt welcome, but didn't feel like the place was made for me - 8 year old

This is a little quaint place my husband and I enjoy once in a while whenever we crave their scrumptious Chicken croissant sandwich The Dillionaire and their moist cinnamon rolls! The atmosphere is cute, with local art pieces..wished it was a little bigger as seating can be limited at times. Free Parking but can be sparse too at times.

I went today and my expectations were very high but the result was beyond disappointing.
1. The food took almost 1 hour to arrive and when the waitress (who was extremely nice and is not to blame) came to apologize for the delay and to explain that the toaster was broken another waitress showed up with the food. - I wonder what really happened. Our food had 2 mini pieces of bread so I find odd that the toaster was the problem.
2. they did ask If we wanted to get something from the bakery in the meantime (why would I want to buy more food if the first order haven't arrived)
3. I ordered the Eggs Benedict with Salmon. There was little to non Hollandaise sauce on it (see the pictures).
4. Salmon looked nice and fresh but was heavy on salt.
5. The Eggs are supposed to be over the toast and the salmon, not randomly served over the potatoes.
6. potatoes were good
7. Eggs were poached nicely.
8. we ordered a dessert that was very good.
9. the waitress that served us the dessert had a extremely strong body odor, which I would totally ignore if she wasn't the person serving my food. (different waitress than the first).
Our bill was around $80 (2 people), which would be reasonable if things were done properly and tasted well but for my experience, it was the opposite and I don't plan to go back.
I hope this feedback help the restaurant to improve so others don't have to go through the disappointment I had to go through.
