This place is great. I had napkin wrapped wonton for the first time of my life. Great life experience ?
It was amazing. It was the first time in my life that I ate wonton stew wrapped in paper towels?

If you can get through the language barrier, it's a great food experience, served with quality food.
Kitchen is very clean and neat. You can tell the chef(owner) appreciates his food.

I tried this restaurant a few days ago, but it was terrible. Even a star is too much.
First, when we ask a question about the menu, she couldn't understand English. So we acted out what we want with our hand, but suddenly she said something in Chinese in upset. Of course we were not Chinese and didn't catch why she was upset and what she wanted to tell us.
Secondly, we ordered a diet Pepsi and repeated 'DIET' three times because we knew she can't speak English, but she ended up giving us a regular Pepsi. Mistaking beverage could happen at any restaurant with any server but she never gave any apology and her attitude looked bothersome or annoyed.
Finally, when we were paying after eating, their receipt was not understandable because it was only in Chinese too. There was 'number-Chinese-number-number' on the receipt, and we absolutely couldn't understand. So we asked her about the number and then she suddenly got upset and said something in Chinese again in a mad, disparaging, and arrogant tone.
We paid around $50 for two people without a tip. It looks like the server is the daughter/wife of the restaurant owner and is there all the time. If you want a terrible dinner experience after spending $50+, I recommend this restaurant.

Worst service and dirtiest dining atmosphere. They will talk to all customers in Chinese and act like they even don’t care if you can’t understand.I only had one meal there and I saw they got involved arguments with customers at different tables.I wouldn’t be surprised if I heard they shut their restaurant down one day soon

Cumin/Salt overload, in literally every dish - It's not high quality cumin either. Meat portions are tiny compared to their website's pictures (eg: 3 small shrimp in a Shrimp Chow Mein and 3/4 of the meat missing on all the BBQ skewers).
Service is non-existent due to a total language barrier. If you can speak Chinese, good for you, but that won't change the quality/portions of food.
Atmosphere is alright, just old and dated with Puke green floors. Clean at least.
Summary: It's an overhyped restaurant with biased reviews. Save yourself some money and time.

If you're looking for a great tasting place to have fantastic Chinese food, this is the place! It's a little hole in the wall type restaurant with some of the best Chinese food I have tried and tasted in the city. It's a 100% recommendation.

Incredible northern Chinese cuisine at very reasonable prices. Perfect hidden gem in Winnipeg - well worth the visit. Try the tofu skins and their BBQ skewers! The lamb noodles with cumin were delicious as well. All of the dishes were a hit - I can't wait to head back for more.
