The rhubarb pistachio cardamom cake is spectacular!

This is a bakery/coffee shop that you will need to check out. While having all the usually suspects like delicious sour doughs and coffees. They also have in my opinion the very and I mean VERY best vegan baking options in the whole city of Winnipeg. I would say it’s 50% non vegan and 50% vegan pastries and you would never ever know. Go support local.

As a non-vegan, I read “vegan croissant” with some skepticism. I regret not taking a photo, but I had the Breakfast Potato Vegan Croissant and it was freaking amazing. Soft, flaky, crispy, flavourful toppings and fillings.. Just yum.

My favorite bakery. Every weekend I get croissants with different fillings that always blow my mind from the taste and amount of filling. I have never seen the filling just pour out. It's luxury. I love Gato! See you every Sunday.

I've had the chance to try several of their creations and they are really good. Recommend checking out this cute bake shop on Sargent

Gato Bakery has a cozy, inviting atmosphere, and I had high hopes for the menu since everything in the webite and FB looked so tempting. We arrived around 3:45 PM, just 15 minutes before closing, so that might have affected our experience. The croissants were just average, but I think it was due to the limited selection at the end of the day. We ordered the almond croissant, vegan sourdough croissant, and a danish.

The prices are decent, and there’s a convenient parking area right beside the shop. The lady at the cashier was really helpful and accommodating, which made the visit pleasant. I plan to return during their earlier hours to try more of their pastries .

This is a beautiful little bakery with fantastic tasting sourdough bread and pastries. Perhaps a little on the expensive side, but it is well worth it. And the atmosphere inside is really nice - wish I had a photo to share but maybe I will add one later. Definitely go!

These vegan patisseries are pure magic! The breakfast potato croissant is like buttery, flaky wizardry, and the vegan apple pie danish from their rotating lineup is exceptional. The place itself is cute, but more of a grab-and-go vibe. I love taking these goodies for Saturday morning dog walks. Always a win!

Nice bakery with dine in option. Cakes was very delicious, croissants average. This place has nice parking but doesn't have washroom for clients.

I recently moved to Winnipeg from Calgary, and have been looking for a proper French/European-style bakery. In a previous life I was a baker myself; my mom and I ran a small bakery/cafe together in YYC, and I still have a small passion for bread!
Anyway, on a whim I decided to wander past the Wolseley Farmer's Market and oooh - there were rows of beautiful croissants so stunning they literally caught my eye from across the street! Purchased one croissant and a pain au chocolate and HOLY JESUS it was the best croissant I've eaten outside of France. Crisp, flaky, buttery, rich but light, great chew, a hint of sweetness in the glaze, and lovely yeasty, sourdough notes that didn't detract from the OG Croissant Flavour Profile (ha) that one has come to expect.

Suffice to say I'm obsessed!
I'm very excited to try their bread - their website's sourdough photos look GORGEOUS - as well as their other offerings, soon! ?❤️
