Good fish, yeah, excellent fish, love the fish. But here’s the problem every single time I catch a whiff of it, I’m not just smelling dinner, I’m smelling Claire. Claire! Since 2009 this woman has been carrying around the exact same scent. And I gotta ask why? Why does she smell like fish? What’s the routine here? Is she showering in chum? Is she storing tilapia in her purse? Is she rubbing salmon on her wrists like it’s perfume? I don’t know, buddy, I don’t know! Nobody knows! You walk by her and it’s like, boom, Red Lobster lobby, table for none because I’m out the door! And then I’m sitting there with this beautiful piece of halibut in front of me and all I can think is, “Claire. Claire’s here. Claire beat the halibut to the punch.” It’s confusing, it’s upsetting, but it’s also… kind of impressive. I mean, consistency since ’09? That’s dedication. Disturbing dedication, but dedication nonetheless.
We are customers of Gimli fish market since 2016.
They provide best seafood products at a competitive price.
I very like fish and seafood. But this Market has a small selection in the assortment, and the products are waiting for sushi preparation. Most of the products are frozen, which makes it very difficult to determine the quality and freshness. I want to thank you for the caviar, it is available but the price is higher than high.
Great options
We wanted to buy fresh salmon for sushi, but the staff told us that the fresh ones were sold out and suggested that we buy frozen salmon. He told us that frozen salmon can also be used to make sushi, and the only difference from fresh salmon is that it needs to be thawed. We bought frozen salmon and thawed it and found that it was so fishy that we couldn't eat it.
Have absolutely everything you could possibly need for a seafood extravaganza!
The staff is really good, such a small amd convenient place to buy fish from even though it felt a little expensive
Absolutely the best place to buy fresh fish in Winnipeg! The quality is always top-notch, and they have never let me down. Every purchase has been fresh, flavorful, and perfect for our dishes at Ceylon Kitchen Winnipeg. Highly recommend to anyone looking for the freshest seafood!
Fresh, friendly, simply the best, especially the organic salmon for sushi
Very good, I would like more choice.

Good place for fresh fish. Staff are very helpful and you can also pick up items like cedar planks and seasonings
Love this place. Get all your fresh and frozen seafood here.
90% frozen products, 10% fresh
I like it. There is variety of fish and normal prices.
I expected more... A larger assortment, but my opinion is very subjective, because I compared it with Dunkirk (France), where I lived for 2 years and got used to the delights in seafood...
