My girlfriend and I finally made time to stop in at Golden Boy this afternoon (June 21) around 5:30. We were greeted by the owner like we were old friends. Surprisingly, we were the only people in the whole place. I got the chili cheeseburger with a milkshake. Girlfriend got the Golden Boy burger. We shared a poutine. The chili on my burger was unlike any chili at any other burger place in this city. It was tasty, with just the right amount of spice, and colorful, like it was freshly made. The milkshake was the perfect consistency and came with a large diameter straw, so I could actually drink it! The bacon on the Golden Boy was fresh and cut up, not crumbly at all. Poutine was 10/10, with plenty of gravy and real Bothwell cheese curds. Two hours later, we’re both still full. The owner chatted with us for a while, and by the time we walked out, we felt like old friends. 100% recommend Golden Boy Bistro! If you haven’t been here yet, go. If you have, go again!

I went to GoldenboyBistro on March 14, 2025. I had the Premium Chicken Tenders and Fries and chose the homemade honey dill sauce. The chicken tenders were incredible and the portion (4) was great for the price which was very good in comparison to other restaurants. The fries are seasoned with a homemade seasoning and are absolutely delicious with perfect crisp. Had a lovely conversation with Nick the owner while he prepared my order. Super friendly man. I will definitely be going again and although it will be very tempting to have the same thing because I enjoyed it so much, I’m going to try other items on the menu. Although I’m only commenting on one menu item, I would highly recommend giving this restaurant a try!!

If you are looking for a fresh meaty burger this is it!! We came from Saskatchewan and wanted to get a locally made burger and this one knocked it out of the park! All fresh real food ingredients, amazing fresh buns and meat patties with no fillers made daily, not greasy or messy whatsoever! The fries were mighty tasty! Highly recommend this place, the owner is fantastic and super friendly!

My cousin stopped there on a whim. So glad we did. Food was fabulous. I had the chicken finger basket & my cousin had the wings. Both had homemade honey dill sauce. Yummy. I even ordered wings to go.

I loved everything about this charming place - from the quality of the food to the thoughtfulness of the owner and head chef Nick into making my visit an exceptional one. He took the time to talk to us and made us feel welcome to the city. And it goes without saying he makes damn delicious burgers. 10/10 would definitely come back!

When it comes to a really good handmade burger this is the place to go. No fillers and all flavour. I recommend the chili cheese burger and the fries are crispy and fresh. Owner is very nice too.

Ordered the bacon loaded burger. When you order a bacon burger you expect nice crispy bacon and not bacon crumble.you can’t even taste the bacon it’s that bad Nothing like biting into a burger and getting a big fat piece of bacon fat. The chili fries weren’t much better I feel like the chili probably comes from a can. Highly disappointed and not sure why there are so many good reviews

Had a very tasty home-cooked burger here, along with a delicious chickpea salad. Friendly service from the owner himself. Upon questioning, he explained the attention to detail he gives to flavour, the spices in the burger, the chili he makes, how he carefully toasts the buns he uses, and the first-rate homemade dressing for the salad. Much appreciated, and the place itself was spotless. A great place to grab a bite right beside Kildonan Park!
