Has been my go-to Chinese food place for years and I can’t see myself going anywhere else unless they close. Great portion sizes for what you pay for. You can get $70 worth of food and it’ll be plenty enough for 6+ people or it’ll last 1-2 people for days. They do offer combinations dishes for $10-15 if you don’t want to get a lot though.
It’s good quality and good tasting dishes too. They also offer a discount if you pay with cash(10% off $50+) and you get a free dish when you spend a certain amount.
There are tables inside however, the way the interior is set up, it’s more for takeout.

I ordered from Great World for the first time and I cannot believe how good every dish i ordered was. Every single dish I had tasted way better than expected!! I have tried many other chinese food places in the city and there's always something to dislike, but not with Great world I honestly have no dislikes with my order! Definitely my new go to for chinese food!

For 12 years our favourite Chinese Restsurant was Great World. Last New years Eve there was a long black hair in one of the dishes. Give them the benefit of the doubt. Again ordered for New Years Eve . Another long black hair. You have lost a 12 year customer. No call back to us regarding this. Do better Great World!

I used to order from Great World when I lived in the neighborhood 25+ years ago, so I had to place an order when I was in town last month. In my opinion it’s still the best Chinese restaurant for dinner in St. James/West End.

Have been going here for over 30 years - we used to live in the same neighborhood, and we continued to order from here when we moved to another area. Food is always well-prepared - excellent flavours and always hot, even after driving the 20 minutes back to our place. Our faves are Cantonese chow mein, hot honey veal, curry shrimp, and Golden Dragon - best wonton soup as well!
