What a gem! This was the only spot we stopped on our way through Winnipeg and I do not regret it one bit!
The Food was excellent and priced accordingly not to mention the woman serving us was so friendly and accommodating when helping us with our choices. 10/10 would recommend habesha!

Women owned and operated. I absolutely love coming here for kitfo for lunch when I celebrate a milestone in my life, or if I have some extra time for lunch during the work week. It's never a disappointment, it's always fulfilling. The atmosphere, the food quality and the service is top notch! Highly recommend.

This is the kind of Ethiopian restaurant you walk in and instantly think to yourself, this is going to be great. The service was good, the staff were kind, the food took its time to reach our table, but the wait was worth the flavor. The price point is also very reasonable, and nothing pretentious about this space at all. It is clear that the restaurant is run by people who make good food, for people who are looking to enjoy an Ethiopian meal.

The food here is great. It’s my favourite restaurant in Winnipeg. Mimi is awesome. She made popcorn for my birthday party and a special dish as part of the vegetarian combo. She is empathetic and kind, which I needed on one of my visits after a friend died. For those saying the TV is too loud, just ask them to turn it down and they will. If I could give it 10 stars, I would!

Vegetarian options: Veg platter is my go-to!

Dietary restrictions: I’m gf and df and have no problems here.

Parking: Parking is a little tight but manageable.

Got Kitfo and Chacha Tibs. The Chacha Tibs was burnt and not edible. The meat was burnt and hard to chew. The portion sizes were small compared to other habesha restaurants and the price for the food quality and quantity was too high. After eating I started experiencing stomach pains and believe I have food poisoning as a result from eating their food. I was excited to try a new habesha place but was very disappointed to say the least. Would not recommend. Also when I came to pick up my food the service wasn’t the best as the lady who was there kept talking to someone else in another language and not really acknowledging me which made me feel uncomfortable and awkward.

This is fast becoming my favourite go-to for cultural food. The food is always amazing, the hostess Mimi is super warm and welcoming and the overall experience is just stellar! I definitely recommend Habesha to anyone who's seeking an authentic cultural food experience.

As a Habesha, the “Beg Tibs” I ordered was The worst Tibs I got in my entire life. Small in size, not enough injera , it was filled with water not meat. Paid $20 for nothing. Adding insult to injury, the service by the lady who processed the payment.was disrespectful, dry and oblivious. Never again, pls Avoid ordering food from this restaurant otherwise you will buy disappointment and anger with your own money. There’s No parking if you are driving . U have to park on adjacent streets blocks away.
