Looking for an Egyptian food in Winnipeg? look no more this place gives an amazing Egyptian fooodd. They have koshary, hawashi, Egyptian shawarma ( I thought I would never have Egyptian shawarma outside Egypt), the falafel 😍😍 just the perfect and best falafel to ever have. Did I mention it’s amazing and feels like home???? I am in love and don’t think it will ever disappoint me.

Vegetarian options: Koshary is the best vegetarian option on earth. ( I think is vegan since but don’t quote me on it)

I had an upset stomach and the BRAT DIET: BANANA, RICE, APPLESAUCE AND TOAST was suggested.

The plain rice pudding was a God-send. The best I have ever tasted. Generous portion, creamy, smooth and soothing. Now a favourite! Thanks. I will be back to sample the menu soon.

Had the Meat Lover's plate for dinner last night and OMG it is SO GOOD! We will be back sooner than later! This place is going on my rotation of take away joints! WELL DONE!

The food is really great. The cuisine is very authentic and the Koshary is amazing. The quality of their food feels like homemade. The portions are very generous.

The owners are very friendly and polite, the place is quiet which is a great thing if you prefer a calm atmosphere.

Highly recommend this if you’re looking for an authentic Egyptian food experience.

This food is Absolutely amazing. Has been added to my regular "go-to" restaurant list. Atmosphere is good, simple. I had the beef shawarma and banana milk drink. I have had the chicken shawarma before as well, which was also fantastic. Very friendly service too.

House of Taste is a great little neighbourhood restaurant and I love that the vegan dishes are listed right on the menu (there's no guessing)! Falafel is a pretty standard Mediterranean dish, I went with the sandwich and it was very filling, fresh and tasty. More interesting is the Fava Bean Sandwich ~ I love fava beans and rarely get a chance to eat them, the sandwich is simple, very hearty and yummy too. Also very unique is Koshary, a strange but wonderful pasta with lentils, chickpeas and two sauces; one a mildly spicy red sauce and the other a tangy (maybe oil and vinegar like blend), which really give the dish some pizazz. The dishes are generous, prices are very reasonable and two can eat for under $30 with leftovers, no problem. Take a little trip to Egypt right here in River Heights and give them a try!

While the menu is straightforward, we had to opt for beef dishes due to the unavailability of chicken upon arrival.
Nevertheless, the food was delicious, and the service was excellent.
Shawarma portions are ample for one person, but you might want to consider adding more for a satisfying Hawawashi meal.
The restaurant boasts tasteful decor and a convenient location with ample parking. Overall, I highly recommend this establishment.

Parking: Parking is okay, and there was no parking issue at dinner time on a Saturday night.
