It’s always good food going here at Huang Pu River. Just make sure to go n the off hours because they are always packed.

The aunties who serve are fast and efficient. You gotta psyche your self before going here too…it’s a no nonsense ordering….fast, loud and deal with some language barrier.

Our favourites are: Fried fish in ginger and soy sauce; Crispy Intestines in BBQ Sauce; Gailan with oyster sauce and garlic; Shrimp in Salted egg yolk; Pork belly stir fry with Jalapeño peppers.

So GOod!

Food was good, however the sesame chicken we got literally had 5-8 pieces of chicken with breading, the other 80% of the box was just deep fried batter accumulated into big clumps. Really cutting corners there, therefore the bad review. I'll be taking my business elsewhere

First time ordering from this place and I was really impressed with the quality of food.

I ordered the the Hot Honey Chicken, Walnut Shrimp and the Special Fried Rice and everything looked and tasted great.

My favourite was the Walnut Shrimp, even though the serving was on the smaller side. I don’t see a lot restaurants in Canada serving this dish but it’s a staple Chinese food order when I visit the US.

Will pay this restaurant a visit soon and see what is the dine-in experience would be like.

I’ve been going to this restaurant often since 2010. Food is great . Portions are relatively big for the price . Price is really reasonable . Only complaint is that in busy times their service is a bit slow . Hope they hire some new waiters and waitresses .

The food was good, but the service wasn’t great. The staff kept hinting for a bigger tip, which was pretty off-putting. If the service had been better, I would’ve been happy to tip more.

Make sure you ask them to explain in details what they charged you before paying. They have again “mistakenly”
Charged me extra that seems like common practice by now. Didn’t want to go here but my dad wanted to go and since it’s Father’s Day I agreed. This place needs to be audited as they often overcharge you and gives you a plain piece of paper that is nothing close to a legitimate receipt. They are not paying the amount of taxes that they should be paying.

Deluxe lo mein with medium heat. I have had it twice now and both times it has been good. Service is out of your face no nonsense. Loose tea is good. Not a tea bag. Enjoyable and all I could ask for.
