One of our go to places. Service is fast and the food is always top notch.

Deluxe lo mein with medium heat. I have had it twice now and both times it has been good. Service is out of your face no nonsense. Loose tea is good. Not a tea bag. Enjoyable and all I could ask for.

The full menu is very authentic Chinese food. The take away is more Canadian Chinese. Everything we had from the full menu was delicious. Service was fast and efficient and the restaurant was packed.

This restaurant is amazing. Huang Pu River Restaurant is my favorite Chinese place in the South End of Winnipeg, second only to Phoenix Square. The food is always tasty and high quality. A combination plate is very filling, so be prepared to take the rest to go. The prices are reasonable for the quality you get. If you come hungry and leave full, you know it's worth every buck. The owner is friendly and always makes conversation whenever we visit. Always worth coming back each time.

This is one of our family's favorite places. My parents and older relatives only go to Chinese food places and this is one of the best in the city for value and quality. Huge portions and very affordable, but the decor is older and modest, not fancy, but big enough for several large tables of 10 and more smaller tables. Authentic Cantonese and Szechuan flavours and dishes you won't find anywhere else in Manitoba. Try the Szechuan pepper fish, deep fried longli fish, 3 sauce chicken, shrimp with duck egg yolk, braised eggplant and the garlic snow pea tips. The BBQ combo is good too - the duck is great, but the BBQ pork is slightly better at Sun Fortune. Regardless, dishes are plentiful and reasonable. Service can be slow when it's really busy, but that's to be expected. Very much worth a visit.

Food is good but one evening, we visited this restaurant and were disappointed by the hygiene standards. The staff member was wearing gloves but did not change them after blowing her nose, and continued to serve food and handle payments without cleaning her hands or changing her gloves. It was quite concerning and affected our overall experience.

My son has favorites we always order. Taste was consistency.
I found our usual order was salty, and serving lesser.
New lady is accommodating.

Excellent meal. Authentic, real chinese food! Top quality food with delicate flavours and good size portions. Service was fast and friendly. It was my first visit but it will be the first of many. Special mention to the fried fish, walnut shrimp, and the braised eggplant on iron plate.

Food for a party of 12 people. Ordered 11 dishes. More than enough. Every dish was excellent. We will order again! Highly recommended!

We have never eaten at the restaurant but have ordered a few times now. This is one of the best Chinese food I have ever eaten. Not heavy on the breading or sauce. Chicken balls have lots of meat, the dry ribs are amazing and chop sue and chow main very good.

we came for a dinner date and were pleasantly surprised by the amount of food on each plate and the freshness of the food, authentic and delicious Chinese food that warmed our hearts and bodies, this place is Definitely worth a visit, and we are already looking forward to coming back

Honestly some staff service is not the best, but the food itself is amazing. I always come back for the food, and the prices are so reasonable!
