We had the braised beef tacos, and taco del pollo. The beef came with a tasty gravy, and the chicken came with a spicy chilli sauce on the side (too spicy for me, but my wife liked it). The food was there in under 10 minutes, service was great, and the price was reasonable. We also had a basket of curly fries; they were hot and crispy and far too many for the two of us! The view of the pumping station is awesome from all angles. We will definitely come back.

My first visit, and easily could be my last. The food was pretty tasty, but the small portions with the high price tags don't make me eager to return. I ordered the California Club sandwich, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I especially appreciated the freshness of the ingredients they used. Disappointed to pay $19.00 for a sandwich though that didn't include any sides. Adding a handful of potato chips and a pickle would go a long way in adding value. This also holds true for the Braised Beef sandwich that my friend ordered for $20.00. Nobody wants to pay for a plate that is half empty! The Braised Beef Tacos were quite tasty but the dipping sauce was extremely salty. The salmon dish with orzo was also very tasty but there was an unusual amount of oil in the bottom of the dish. For dessert we ordered the peanut butter brownie which was over baked to the point of being crunchy. Again, a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top would be a welcomed addition for the $12.50 price tag. This particular dessert was quite dry and underwhelming to say the least. If you are going to order dessert, I recommend the Ube Cheesecake. Also pricey, but uniquely moist and delicious! Their selection of G-Rated & Elevated beverages are fantastic! I ordered the Passionfruit Mule and definitely would have enjoyed another one had we lingered, but since it was extremely loud in there, lingering was not an option. If you are going out for an evening to catch up with friends, having a conversation will prove to be difficult. Tables are close together and the ceilings are high, which makes for a noisy dining environment. Hanging decorative sound absorbing panels might help. In spite of the noise level, the unique atmosphere is definitely worth the visit. The service was extremely slow, so be prepared for a leisurely stay. Overall, food was tasty and the atmosphere is unique. With a few minor adjustments, it could be a really enjoyable restaurant to frequent.

A small but wonderful menu with vegan and gluten free options. We loved the crispy cauliflower and will definitely be back.

I had a great dining experience overall. The food and service were both excellent. I ordered the TNT prawns, which made for a perfect lighter meal—flavourful and well-prepared. For dessert, I had the carrot cake, and it was just as impressive—moist, rich, and nicely spiced. The only downside was the noise level in the restaurant. It was quite loud, making it difficult to hold a conversation at times. That said, if you're looking for great food and attentive service, it's definitely worth a visit—just be prepared for a lively atmosphere.

The 3 of us each had something different - peanut salad with chicken, beef tacos, fish and chips, and each dish was excellent.

Our server was very nice and attentive. The food was quite delicious. The dan dan was very delicious with crispy prawns and the appetizer cauliflower was great.

I don't often leave reviews but the food and drinks here were outstanding! A great Aperol spritz and espresso martini. They also have a martini flight that looks amazing. Hard to get these drinks just right but and they nailed it. And the food was exceptional also! I had the salmon bowl and my husband had the beef dip. We started with the TNT shrimp. Service was great too. Can't wait to go back!

Lunch after the regular crowd was done so nice and quiet. Smash burger is still my favourite. Unique ambiance. Parking was congested but still found street spot within the block. Definitely recommend as a go-to place. On my top 10

Sat on the patio! Was nice and quiet. The food was amazing. Love the variety of options especially the vegan/ vegetarian. They only had one server on and there was a bunch of wedding parties which kept him busy but he still did a great job!

Spectacular options for vegans. Wonderful to be able to have a vegan dessert. As someone dealing with hearing loss, too noisy to have a comfortable visit with family.

I myself had the Dan Dan Thai with crispy prawns and its is the best meal I have had in a very long time. This was my first visit to the James Pumphouse. Staff were very friendly and courteous I was staying at the hotel across Waterfont. I will definitely visit again for the food. Couldn't hear myself think and I am not one for crowds. This was last night, Wednesday.

We enjoyed the experience overall. The place is very cool, and it was so busy for a Monday night. The food was okay, not exceptional (kinda average actually), and the service was good, our server was very pleasant.

The food is always amazing and so too are the staff. Definitely one of my favourites in the Exchange!
