“I visited Blufish yesterday evening with my boyfriend and my mom (we were all craving sushi), and we heard lots of great reviews and word that Blufish was one of the top places in Winnipeg to go for good sushi (alongside Yujiro on Grant). We reserved a table earlier in the day online - this was a super easy and convenient option! We ended up arriving 15 minutes early and they were able to accommodate (I was 100% okay with waiting if needed, but it was great to see how accommodating and welcoming the crew at Blufish was). ☺️ First off - the cocktails. 😍 I tried both their Plumtini and Lychee-tini, and I honestly could have sipped on those all night long. Our server was really great with recommending cocktails to try as well! Between the three of us, we ordered a variety of items - from edamame beans and vegetable tempura, to sashimi and nigiri sushi, and a few different rolls. I myself have a shellfish allergy (a sin for a person who loves sushi), and the staff were very accommodating with making sure that the items that were unsafe for me were on separate plates, and they acknowledged when those specific rolls were on the table as well. Kudos to the staff - this effort meant so much to me! 🙌🏼 The sashimi and nigiri was amazing, their wasabi was great - the only items I found I could have passed on were their salmon bakudan roll, the seaweed wrap was quite chewy and not my favourite, and their philadelphia roll (again, just a tad bit chewier than I’m used to - although I will say that I really appreciated that they were open to switching out the smoked salmon for raw salmon with this roll). These are not reasons that will deter me from returning though - I will definitely come back again! I can definitely vouch after this visit that Blufish is indeed one of the top places in Winnipeg for sushi - I will agree with that one!“

“Don't normally review but this place deserves the 5 stars and an absolute glowing review. Placed a simple order for a friend's birthday, forgot to mention it and called to ask them to write happy birthday on the packaging. They said sure and then 10 minutes later sent me a text message of an extra sushi cake they made special for her. They went above and beyond and I was told by the sushi feind friend that it was the best sushi she'd had. 100% recommend.“

“I ordered a beef tappenyaki with extra sauce on door dash and when I received it the lid was completely off and the sauce had spilled all over the bag. I called the restaurant and told them about it and they happily replaced it for me. One of the lady who work’s there is always suuper nice. I will always be one of their regular customers.“

“I ordered a pork bao bun that wasn’t on the main menu but was posted near the register. I decided to try it because it was something new for me. I’m glad I did because it tasted great and suited my palate. The amount of pork in the bun was just right—not too much and not too little. I’m not a fan of leeks, and they kind of distracted me because I could really taste them, but it was still fine overall. I did have to wait a bit for my order since they made it on the spot, I think, but that actually made it even more delicious. I finished it all and my tummy feels happy.

The location of this is in the foodcourt area of Kildonan Place.The price was about CAD 11 for two buns, which seemed fair. Also, the cashier was really energetic and friendly.

“Favorite little sushi spot in Winnipeg! So glad I stumbled upon this place. It is rated one of the best sushi places in Winnipeg and people aren’t wrong! The Sushi is absolutely delicious, and there are many different kinds to choose from. Also, their fried soft shell crab is outta this world. Sooo yummy, best appetizer on the menu😋. Also love love love that they stay open later! Always roll into town late, and this place is open when I want a late dinner. Only thing is that it gets super busy in there, so service can be a bit slow. There tends to be only one young lady that’s working in there waiting tables and I think that she is doing a great job, and the best that she can with the help that she has. And, with the nice atmosphere and great food, it makes it well worth the wait so I don’t mind. Parking can also be a bit challenging as it’s a very busy area in the evenings and I drive a pickup, so that makes it even more difficult. Worse case scenario, just take an Uber there. Highly recommend Akindo, and always come here when I’m in Winnipeg!“

one of my dishes were made incorrectly?. It was still good, but also felt like it didn't belong.. it didn't show pickled carrots on pork belly boa buns in the picture in store menu display and doesn't mention carrots on the ordering site. I think i would have enjoyed it even more if it was made correctly.

I felt very rushed when placing my order and missed out on a $2 combo drink because she walked away for a moment after asking about drinks, throwing me off. They didn't try to upsell the sumo size(shrimp chicken stir fry rice,), I was kind of shocked with the small portion and what I paid... they have 3 other Rice places, and koya is by far the least amount.

I was bothered by how they tried to get me to leave before I got my food, they don't have a buzzer, and if a similar dish it could cause confusion as we almost swiped a different customers dish because she wasn't there and it was very similar to what we ordered, like wave them down before putting out what they got, instead we got confused. After 1 of our dishes were out, she told us to go sit down 5 more mins for my food, I insisted on waiting for my food... she still pleaded a couple more times before I walked away because it was getting weird, so I just watched, from the table my partner already brought his dish.

As much as her not so great servicing skills and less Rice than expected, I did enjoy the taste of everything, I will be back...

I have only had the ready-made take-out to go trays which are very organized, nicely packed and all tasty and delicious. Sides are amazing, we had shrimp tempura and spring rolls. Prices are affordable and portions are good. Mango bubble tea with mango pieces in it was a breath of fresh air. Nice customer service, kind workers. Overall perfection. I wish I could give more stars.“
