I've seen a lot of reviews of awful customer service at this bakery, and have had many borderline bad experiences myself, but today was met with awful customer service: the counter person was abrupt and impatient to the point of rudeness, served someone else who came in after me (I was the only customer in the bakery at the time), and ignored me. For the first time, I left with no cake, and likely will not be back. Such a shame, these cakes have been favorites for years, but there have to be limits. Can't treat a customer politely? Too bad, I'm sure there are lots of other bakeries who will.

A birthday in our house just has to have a Jeannies cake. The chocolate on the sides is incredible and the shortbread on the log cake is delicious. . A Jeannies cake just makes a birthday special. My mom started the tradition and we think of her on our special birthdays. It just makes the day feel special.

Cake is not for me! It seemed like a must try for Winnipeg and I don't really get the appeal. It's a pretty cake but I didn't get any flavor. The texture of the cake was good, the layers were even but the frosting just tasted like plain fat and and the cake tasted like nothing. It's not sweet, and cake doesn't have to be, but it didn't taste like ... anything. I wish it wasn't so!!! I'm sorry all ☹️

A must try when in Winnipeg. Cakes are best with vanilla ice cream. ? Try the vanilla log cake. Or try a couple mini cakes first (2 bites) to know which flavour you like.I think the original owners sold the company. I’ve had these cakes for over 50 years and it’s almost the same but something is different? So I have it 4 not 5 ?s. Buy really it’s a 5star compared to other bakeries .

While the cakes still taste good, Service has gone downhill and the writing on the cakes would look better if a 2 year old did

I never understood why people went so crazy over their cakes back to my childhood 30+ yrs ago. I never liked the cakes nor did anyone I knew.Fast forward to today we received a Jeanie’s cake this week. It’s better than I remembered, the icing wasn’t gritty or over sweetened….. and it ended there once again. It was dry underwhelming cake and that’s about it. Sorry guys I really wanted to have enjoyed it. All the best!

My family has been buying cakes from this bakery since before I was born but we officially plan to stop. I’m not sure who he is, but the guy who answers the phone for orders is extremely passive aggressive and sarcastic. I’ve had this happen twice now (the first time I decided to ignore it, maybe he was having a bad day). I was going to just stop ordering myself, but my mom recently ordered and said the same thing. He responds sarcastically to questions, almost like he expects you to know everything about their bakery already. It’s just rude and made us both uncomfortable.

Love this bakery ?. I seem to be allergic to something in the icing .... maybe raw egg don't know. Parking in front of the store on Noterdame is hit and miss. Otherwise, a 9/10.

Great service from young lady late afternoon on Saturday. And it is a Jeanne's cake, what more to say.

My favorite cake of all time! If you've never experienced it, you just have to get out there and try. My personal go-to is the chocolate/banana marble.
