First time coming in today (Canada Day). And unfortunately a poor experience. It wasn’t busy, only a few tables and the service was incredibly slow. We waited over an hour for our food, server brought crayons and colouring page for my daughter only after about 40 mins of waiting. Our waitress was a bit all over the place, seemed a bit confused over simple requests like when we asked for our waters after they weren’t brought to us for about 15 mins. When food arrived it was mediocre at best. Hardly any flavour or seasoning in the patty melts, the veggies that came with the chicken fingers were just cheap and poor quality frozen veggies. Garlic toast was so greasy. Lastly, unless I somehow missed it in the 2 stall bathroom; there was no change table which was also quite surprising. We’ve been trying to support more local restaurants but this one definitely fell flat and we won’t be back.

The menu says add 2 sides to any handheld for $6.00. But when I picked up my order they said you can’t have 2 of the same sides and had to charges me $4.75 per side. Anything to get a dollar.

Classic diner experience, food is fantastic and mostly made in house, prices remind me of my childhood (almost) and the service is hometown friendly. My partner and I love this place as a neighborhood haunt, will be coming back for years to come!
Nice atmosphere. Staffs were friendly. Very disappointed with the hash browns, it was very oily. The rest was okay.
Hard to rate service when it was very little
Keep in mind this is my first time ever coming to the jolly mug . I Walked in while restaurant was quite dead or dying down on a Sunday , asked if we could sit at the front (window seat) . Table of two. and was asked “If I mind?” While being taken to the back of the restaurant against a black wall after asking to be facing a window huge difference and very weird.
Asked why I couldn’t sit where I requested. Was told no servers are working that section … that said section was 2 steps away from the hostess booth.
Lived near this resteraunt for over a decade but never went. Now that I don't even live in the same city I had to finally check it out. Was very popular with the neighbours and kow I know why.
Nice lil diner. Had a table for 2. Food was good. Service was good. Feels good to support locally owned type of restaurants. Brekky was scrumptious.

I take my mom there regularly and it's always great service and quality food. It's basic meals but reasonable prices and they have senior meals which are just the perfect size.
Place is dirty. Order was wrong. Found hair melted in the cheese of the burger.. staff would not replace or refund one burger. Rude.. poorly managed
Great little neighborhood diner. My Reuben sandwich was fantastic, the fries were well cooked with the skin on, exactly how I like them, and the Greek salad was exceptional, with lots of feta. Bev, our server, was efficient and friendly.
I went here during lunch, and the food was awesome; I got a hamburger with only lettuce (bland, I know) and hashbrowns. The burger tasted great, it's flat but that's okay! It tasted awesome. The hashbrowns were somewhat undercooked, but they were still good. From what I've seen at other tables, the fries looked crispy and yummy. The food did take long, but it's Valentines Day. So!
The waitress was really kind, too. Definitely will be coming here again if I have the time.
Great food. Always fresh and hot
