Many items on the menu are no longer available and time moves a little slow here. Salad with glass noodles was interesting but I would not order again.

If I could give zero, I would. My usual sushi spot was closed today, so I made the mistake of trying Kimchi Sushi—the worst decision of my day. From the very start, the experience was a nightmare. I called ahead to place my order for yam tempura rolls, and the phone interaction was unbelievably rude. The lady kept insisting my phone number wasn’t Canadian because it didn’t start with 204 or 431. I’ve had this number for 9 years—it’s an Ontario number. Instead of listening, she argued with me like I didn’t know my own number. Then came the pricing drama. The website says $8 per plate, but she told me my total was $34 for two rolls. When I questioned it, she snapped back that it was “taxes.” Sorry, but math is not mathing, lady—$20 in taxes for $16 worth of food? Make it make sense. When I got to the restaurant, I asked again about the price discrepancy, and she admitted others have complained too and that their website “needs to be updated.” Still, she charged me the full $34. I opened my order and it wasn’t even what I asked for. When I pointed it out, she argued AGAIN, blaming me for “ordering wrong” (even though I had confirmed multiple times). After all that, she remade my order and charged me correctly this time—$18 for two rolls. So why the runaround in the first place?

And after all this nonsense, the food itself was terrible. The rice was stale, the rolls were bland, and honestly, I’ve had better sushi from a grocery store.
Bottom line: rude service, shady pricing, awful food. Worst host, worst service, worst sushi experience ever. I left fuming and will never be back. Save yourself the headache and avoid this place.

The food was okay, but the service left much to be desired. The servers consistently acted as if the problem was always on the customer’s side, which made the experience unpleasant. I also had concerns about hygiene. The sushi chef at the front wasn’t wearing a mask and was loudly chatting with the servers while preparing sushi. I could clearly see saliva spraying out as he spoke. Is it really acceptable to serve sushi prepared under such conditions directly to customers?

Ordered 4 dishes - tasty, but last dish (the simplest one) didn't come out until 40 minutes after we ordered and had finished eating. Ended up taking it to go.
Prices and options were good.

Never have I felt so gaslight at a restaurant i normal don't leave review but the lack of training and knowledge from staff wasn't we great. We order a bunch of sushi and hot dish but how they handle the wrong dish order show poor management. We order a beef tataki but got the wrong dish even told them this wasn't what we ordered and the waiter said it was what u order, and u should try somthing new it would be good, very conductive clearly u know it was not it saying sorry doesn't fix it, we try ordering the correct one I didnt care paying for the wrong order as long as we got the dish we wanted. which we did pay for it anyways, since they didn't want to take back the food. We tried ordering the right one and they said they don't have the raw meat anymore or whatever excuse...which clearly u guys are striaght up lying about the dish u gave us saying all the chef said this is how that dish is, saying it is slightly raw cooked beef, the photo is what we got and the photo with the circle is what we wanted to order and we have been here a few times and we have ordered this dish every time. And considering this photo is one their Google review makes it more disappointing not sure if we be back but it left a bitter taste how it was handed

After I received my bill, I took a look at the menu and realized I was being charged $1 more on food items than what was listed. I was not informed about the price difference on the menu and it’s clear as day what the business intentions are. Do not dine here.

Used to love eating from this location; however in recent months, it's gone downhill.

Doesn't ever seem to be open on the days it says it is open. We make sure to not go when they're prepping for dinner, but somehow they end up being closed anyway??? Even when we go at 12pm, and there's never a sign on the door indicating where ANYONE is, unless it's a health inspection.

Have ordered from them 3-4 times via skip, and 50-75% of the time, they've given me the WRONG ROLL. I'd understand it the first time around that they're busy and can't keep up with the orders, but if I'm trying to order the same roll and they still mess up a second or third time? That's a problem.

Also in the same few times that I've ordered via skip, they always NEVER provide me the sesame sauce with the beef tataki. It is always just ponzu. It doesn't taste the same with just the ponzu.

Overall, this restaurant and their quality of service seems to have gone down; more from the ordering perspective and also from the fact that they seem to not be open on the days that they're supposed to be open.

This used to be the best Sushi in Winnipeg, unfortunately it is absolutely terrible now. Most of the food they tried masking the terrible flavor with the sauces. Will not go back or recommend
