Madi and Taylor were the best severs. They’re both so attentive and friendly. Tayler is so friendly and on top of what we needed/wanted that we never waited for anything more than we needed. Thank you Taylor and Madi!

I just wanted to say, the last four reviews are false. I was there and the bartender was nothing but sweet. They were extremely short staffed and she was literally running from customer to customer. To leave a review like that is insane. You could have just left or gone to another establishment. This poor girl was so busy and had to deal with you entitled group.

Cudos to her for remaining calm and dealing with every rude person while she's literally sweating from her brow into the cash register.

I'll be back, time and time again. Thank you.

We were racially abused and attended to very unprofessional

My friends and I have been coming to Leopold Traven at Plessis Transcona every week for over 18months now, but the incident that happened today Sept 10, 2025 made us realize that the staff don’t like seen us there.

We placed an order for over 40minutes, we didn’t get our orders then we followed up with the staff that took our order, she said and I quote “your orders are coming but if you can’t wait we can bring them raw for you”. For reference this staff has always made error on our bill any day she attends to us and we have always in good faith corrected those bills before making payments.
We reported this comment to the supervisor on duty and the supervisor response was worse. She yelled and said
1. “We have noticed you guys just come in and wave at my staff, I am already short 2staff”

2. Don’t you see we are busy, I shouldn’t tell you that, you can look around and see that for yourself

3. I don’t have time for you guys, you guys should just leave and not come back to this establishment anymore”

……..and she worked away.

The supervisor had zero deescalating skills, very rude and unprofessional. She even threatened us with Cops, we waited for the Cops but they didn’t arrive.

What the incident interpreted to myself and my friends was that
1. We were treated and spoken to in this manner because we are black, because I don’t know why following up on my order will result into such disrespect and humiliation.
2. They knew we come every week and it showed that they don’t like seeing our faces, because we asked the supervisor if she sees us every week and she yes she knows us, meaning she knows we patronize that location every week.
I strongly recommend that this incident be investigated by the management of the organization, because this speak a volume about the organization.
As for me and my friends we won’t be coming to this restaurant anymore and won’t recommend this restaurant to anyone.

THESE PEOPLE WILL HUMILIATE YOU DESPITE YOUR PATRONAGE!!!!!!!

We had a very terrible experience here. The service is nothing to write home about. We had asked the waiter for the wings ordered after about 37mins of waiting and she replied saying “I can as well bring the raw wings for you if you care”. We felt such statement was wrong so I approached her supervisor. The supervisor made a racial statement “that’s how you guys do, flagging our staffs just because your order wasn’t ready”. I asked if it was wrong to ask if the order wasn’t ready and she said you can as well see for yourself that we are too busy. She literally told me she’s too busy for complaints as she’s short 2 staff and has no time for unnecessary complaints. I was so embarrassed, I asked for the bills and then she came and accused me of taking a picture of her staff😲. When? How? Where? Then she started to yell that she was calling the cops. I’m still here wondering if this happened to us cos we’re black. I am still in shock, I feel harassed, humiliated, embarrassed to say the least. I am taking this further to Canadian Human Rights Commission as this looks like an intentional attack on us.

It is unfortunate that we were racially abuse while we are complaining about the poor service we experienced today, despite different bad service we had overlook in the past. Example issuing incorrect receipt and purposely delaying our orders.
The staff look my friends and I in the face and told us to leave and don’t come back. Threatened us with calling the cops which we waited for the cops to come but never showed up.

I just received the most horrific and shambolic service at the Plessis location of Leopold’s Tavern.

I placed an order for wings and after 30 mins, I asked for update on my order, and the waiter said to me, “you can see we are busy, if you want it raw I can bring it for you raw.”

Never seen a shambolic service like this before in my life.

Recommended dishes: The Juke Burger

We were excited to try out their le burger week entry and also ordered a bunch of other foods that were available for happy hour, Burger was too well done for my liking and the pirogies are not really doing anything to complement the burger, I would rather have it as a straight up bacon cheese burger as the bacon was of good quality. Overall it was ok but not amazing. The side of fries were soggy which was a let down.

Wings are good, not crispy as I would like, guac and chips are ok, pirogies are ok, pickled egg was ok, everything we had was ok but nothing was really good. The lager I had was good 😁.

Would probably come back to try other items in their menu but the happy hour items are bang for buck just not amazing.
