I visited Les Saj to try shawarma for the first time. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The Traditional Arabic Chicken Shawarma was suggested to me and I’m glad that it was. I also got some falafel and a couple of desserts. Everything tasted incredible!Thank you for the friendly service and delicious food. I’ll be back on my next trip back to the Peg.
This place has amazing food, I frequently travel to Winnipeg and I’ve always struggled to find good middle eastern food. I ordered the chicken platter and the spinach and cheese manoosha,”. they were so fresh and delicious. I would definitely recommend this place and this will be my go to place every time I’m in Winnipeg. The staff is super friendly too and offered me free desert!

I was in town and had a craving for a shawarma but ended up getting a donair! My favourite donairs in the world are the ones in Halifax and the owner was able to make it for me "Halifax-style". It did not disappoint!!!!! I loved it.

We just enjoyed a delicious meal at Les Saj and cannot recommend this restaurant any more! The fellow at the counter was an absolute gem so kind and helpful! The two person platter was amazing, if you haven’t been you need to go! Run… don’t walk!
I updated my review. After several months I gave Le Saj another try as for Ramadan I’d like to support as many locally owned middle eastern restaurants as possible. We ordered the mixed platter for two again and I wish the issue remained about the inconsistency. This time it was full on neglect and lack of care. Portions reduced to lowest I’ve seen they should call it mixed platter for 1 at this point and worse yet the quality was horrendous. The chicken (what little was on the plate) was so dry it felt like sand, the donair was so old and dry I felt like I was eating my dogs bully stick. I wanted to call the restaurant and take my complaint directly to the owner in hopes they’d take constructive feedback. However, after reviewing the owners responses to so many Google reviews threatening legal action or other “consequences” whatever that means…and calling upset customers “cockroaches” I know my feedback will not matter to him. However, for everyone else thinking of going here, I would encourage you to rethink or try it at your own risk.

The food was delicious, we had the platter for two and enjoyed all of the options!!!
I ordered the mixed grill for two for Ramadan dinner with the family. And soon found out it’s a mixed assortment of whatever they need to throw out that day. I wish the issue was just the small portion of “grilled meats” that was barely enough to feed one person. Everything was clearly not fresh, the donair was dry and chewy, the kebab was cold and the chicken was also dry and tasted like sand.They used to be a great establishment that gave great portions for a great value. Now it’s poor portions, and stale overpriced food.
