Super delicious fried chicken/specialty poutine! Unique honey dill sauce too!
Watched the bands set up while waiting for my take out order. Food was delicious. Messy, but bar food should be!
Hands down one of the worst places i tried. I had high hopes after readings all the good reviews on it. I don't know if they changed cooks or the way they cook it but it was really bad. Got a 10 piece. It was supposed to be half spicy half regular. None were spicy at all. Super greasy and overcooked no flavor. I don't ever leave reviews but i was really disappointed in this one. Maybe it was just a bad night in the kitchen I'll never know not going back
Wow! Wow! We were passing through from Ontario to Calgary. Stopped here on a cold wintery night. Restaurant was a little under whelping, we honestly weren't sure if we should stay and eat. We took a chance and Wow are we glad we did! Chicken fingers and curly fries were elevated to a higher standard!! The white and black sesame seeds and honey were crazy good!! 5 star review!!
Big fan of their chicken it's not greasy, had the strips and a few different sandwiches. Wings as well are big and tasty couldn't finish 2lbs in one sitting. If you like spicy get the scorcher, it's not always consistent, sometimes its hot, sometimes its very spicy but its soooo tasty. I've been multiple times since they opened. Highly recommended.
I get takeout from Magic Bird often, and when we can my wife and I enjoy dining in. Staff are always friendly and welcoming and the food is fantastic. I love their chicken fingers (hot), their sandwich of the month is always great, and their sides are amazing. Make sure to try the Jalapeno ranch mac, and order a side if their homemade ranch, you won't regret it.
I didn't know whether to rate these as 2 or 4 stars, so I split the difference and settled on 3.The reason is that they have the odd habit of dusting everything with excessive amounts of paprika after they've fried the chicken. I love paprika, but this is too much even for me.On anything mild, it's just weird, and frankly not tasty as well (2 stars). But on anything really spicy, it works much much better (4 stars).
I feel the meal I got was decidingly average, granted I did show up late because I had to stop for gas on the way to pick up my order.I ordered their chicken fingers meal with cheese sauce, bacon and jalapenos on top and got the "Scorcher" heat level for the chicken. The chicken was still warm when I ate it so that wasn't much an issue itself. It wasn't overly chewy or tough so eating it was pleasant enough. The breading might've been a little soggy since I took so long to show up but it was fine otherwise. The cheese sauce was standard fair, kinda bland and gooey which was disappointing, the bacon bits they used might as well not have been there with how cheese sauce and breading covered the taste. Pickled jalapenos were more or less standard. The curly fries is where it was at. The fries were pretty soggy when I got to them but they were easily the best part of the meal. They had a nice seasoning to them that wasn't over powering and just pretty edible overall, I could easily eat a whole box of them without getting sick of the taste. The thing that let me down the most about this meal was the flavour of the spice/seasoning they used for their chicken breading. I asked about it over the phone and I was told they used a mix of Carolina Reaper and Ghost Pepper chilis for heat and a point was made about how it was 1,000,000 SHU and it honestly couldn't have been hotter than the serrano peppers they sell at grocery stores. The one thing I'll give'em is that I don't like the taste of ghost pepper and they managed to mask it pretty well.Overall it's an average chicken place, I wouldn't go for just the food but if you want to hang out with friends for some drinks and casual bar food it'll do the trick (provided the lockdown restrictions lighten up anytime soon).

I wanted to like this chicken so badly. However, the breading was super thick and tough. Not crispy, just tough - like rawhide. The chicken (maybe from brining) and the breading were also unpleasantly sweet. 1/5 chicken.Review is two stars overall because the curly fries were great and the restaursnt was friendly in accommodating us by providing some of the hot spice rub in addition to seasoning the chicken directly with the mild.
I really don't know where these 4.5 stars came from, don't trust em. These are obviously cheap frozen chicken tenders that were not even fully tossed in paprikaOver cooked, breading is nasty and dry (as were the curly fries), paprika seasoning that's half on half off. You're better off going KFC or picking something up from the frozen aisle yourself
Curly fries were great! The chicken fingers (mild spice) were ok, the honey dill sauce was like nothing I've seen before, and not in a good way (the colour is like a dark green jello and the texture is gooey and something was off about the taste). If you're looking for classic chicken fingers and honey dill, do not go here. If you're looking for curly fries, do!
First time ordering from Magic Bird..Ordered chicken strips and a 4 piece chicken meal. Chicken coating was tasteless, with exception of thyme. The coating tasted like it was cooked in old oil. The chicken was tasteless. My wife and I were dissatisfied. I left a message with business with no reply. Uber driver did not ring door bell as instructed and left bag of food outside in -18 temperature. Overall, will not recommend.Business replied after I contacted them with my concerns. They stated oil was clean. Asked me to order again to see if next time I would like better??Really?? Thanks for not so great customer service!!
My daughter ordered chicken fingers and was given a very large portion of curly fries and a unique honey dill sauce. I ordered the classic chicken burger which was good. We ordered medium spice fried chicken and it too was very unique tasting and the chicken is all very good. A side of cheesy fries but I thought the cheese sauce was just a bit bland. Its too bad dine in had not been available. (I think due to space and Covid they couldn’t have that option.) by the time we could eat it at home -the steam had made everything a tad soggy. No fault of the owners, we will give it a try again when we can eat in, or when we can grab a picnic table and enjoy it right away. Will definitely support this local guy again!
