New Hong Kong Snack House aka NHK is a borderline religion or drug addiction in food form to people. They are soo successful that being open for breakfast or dinner is not necessary.The hole in the wall interior always brings back memories and honestly, I hope it never changes. Staff is attentive, friendly and the customers are a mix from business men to high school students to foodies. I have been raised on the food here since I was a child and always thought of it as my secret spot until I realized almost everyone I know went there.Spare Rib Rice, Shrimp Dumpling and Fried Peking Perogies are the only items I order and make sure you try the hot sauce. I can't explain why but it's such a perfect combination of sweet, salty, savory and borderline umami. If it's your first time, try the Beginners Plate to set yourself up for adventurous orders in the future.I highly recommend New Hong Kong to anyone with an open mind, heart and stomach haha. It's at times a hit or miss based on expectations, but you'll be hooked once you get past the exterior and concentrate on the food.

Awesome place, that's why there's so many regulars here. Robert is always very friendly and remembers things from weeks ago and asks how they went. It's only too bad that they're only open for lunch. And they have the best meat spring rolls in the city!

Gem of Winnipeg. We always order here whenever we get the chance. Their signature Chinese perogies are unparalleled to anywhere, so make sure you order them. We always also get the hot beef rice bowl and it's delicious too. We don't even live here and we make sure to go here each visit.
This is by far the best Chinese snack house in town. If you haven't tried it out its a must!The family that runs it are super nice, good is excellent!My family has been going here now for 3 generations, and their food never disappoints. You used to be able to pick up frozen bags of their perogies but that ended a while back, wish that was a thing again!10/10 visit this place immediately if you haven't gone here yet.

Robert and everyone who works there is so friendly, and there is no food out there like this. Something about it is different and special.. once you eat here you know there is no where else like it.. it's hard to describe but I highly recommend it. Begginer plate is a great intro I'd you're new or just want a bit of everything. The spare rib on rice is my favorite dish, everything is cooked fresh to perfection, A true gem!
