This was my first time and our waitress Chantel was very pleasant and I had a couple questions about the menu that she was very helpful with and the food was good to boot . Definitely will be back, only negative is I think the food is a little pricey for what you get.

When my party of three adults arrived at Prairie's Edge, we were promptly seated at the table we had reserved beside the window overlooking the semi frozen duck pond. Our server was cordial, professional, and accommodating. The three of us began with tomato basil soup served piping hot as ordered. My two companions ordered beet salads while I selected the meatloaf served on a bed of mashed potatoes along with spears of asparagus and carrots and covered with mushroom gravy. Desserts included the wonderful bread pudding, chocolate cheesecake, and nostalgic banana treat. What an awesome setting for three dear friends to meet for lunch!!!

The coffee delivary was a little slow. But, 2nd time in a row, we have made a reservation, when we arrived to the table we are told we have to be gone by a certain time as someone else also reserved the the table. We wont be back for a spell. Ty.

We enjoyed our dinner and evening out with friends. The service was great and it was very nice not to be rushed. We had a great view of the pond and park and it was especially nice after the sun went down. The meals were delicious (beef short ribs and lamb shank).

The food was pretty good, the drinks were as well. But the service wasn’t great, she didn’t seem like she wanted to be there, or like she really even knew what she was doing. I’ve been a server for 15 years, so I always try to give people the benefit of the doubt in those situations; but she just really was not good, at least the food was.

On this visit we ordered the Prairie Breakfast special. My friends ordered coffee and a latte, only the coffee came. Some time later, the latte also arrived. Our breakfast came out no longer fresh and bacon, though ordered crispy, was brittle. The service was not attentive. We will go back and in fairness, be more communicative about our food on arrival. I do so love the ambiance and will certainly go again. At 10$ for the special, it is good value. Don't let this dissuade you. I have had good experiences also.

There was a long wait before our order was taken, but after that the server was attentive to our needs and very pleasant. The food was a little less than expected - very thin pieces of fish and blander than I would have liked. Also, everyone was seated along the windows with the remainder of the restaurant empty and this created a very noisy area along one side of the restaurant.

Overall a wonderful breakfast. The toast (rye) tasted like dry paper, airy and no taste. This is so unusual. My friends ordered the multigrain so perhaps that's what I'll do next time. Toast is a small detail but it makes the meal complete! I love the ambiance and you can't beat tie price of the breakfast special!

Went for breakfast @1030. They have a breakfast special for $10.00 until 1100. 2eggs, 3 pieces of bacon or sausage , toast and jam, shredded or cubed hash browns or tomato slices. Coffee is an extra $4.00 with refills. Typical restaurant breakfast but in a very nice location with exceptional service.

Overall the experience very good but it felt like our server was trying to rush us through the meal. She was asked us if we were ready to order minutes after we sat down but had not taken our drink order and we were not all finished our meal and she asked if we were ready for dessert.

Other customers kept staring at me and my girlfriend when we were out for valentines day, could only chalk it up to the fact that we are a young couple (early early 20s) aside from that food was good. Over priced for what it's worth

Dinner was good. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Service was a bit lack luster. Our appetizer never arrived and our server seemed a bit lost and unsure about the menu. Would still go back again.

Located in Kildonan Park, Prairie's Edge provided a lovely venue overlooking the duck pond. The staff were pleasant. Our server however, lacked the awareness needed to read a table, and her social cues were slightly off. Not a big deal, we did tip her for trying. As for the food. The only word to sum it up was ‘ok'. It definitely was not anything to write home about. My husband and I both ordered the fried chicken sandwich. He with French fries, myself with sweet potato fries. The dish although nicely cooked with a great crisp, it lacked any flavour. It cried out for spice or even a dash of salt. It was very bland. The same went for the french fries and the sweet potato fries. I also ordered an amaretto sour for a cocktail. The flavour was off, and the sour mix they had was not sour but incredibly sweet. Overall it was an ok experience, and even with nothing going amiss during dinner, it is an experience that I do not wish to repeat.
