Great place to bring out of town guest to show them how creative the food scene is here in Winnipeg. The food is fresh, flavorful, and consistent. They also have a great mocktail selection for those that don't want to drink.
2 wedge salads and a torchiere. They were ok....nothing to complain about but just don't seem as good as at previous times. Bacon in the salads was a little cover done, croutons were quite big, fries looked and tasted as if they were just reheated. No finishing garnishes....food looked as if it was just plunked on the plate. Not in a hurry to come back.
First time dining at Preservation Hall Eatery and overall it was quite good. We started with the Green flatbread which was delicious, (I would come back again just for this dish)! I ordered a triple berry Gin sour & it was very nice. For our mains I ordered the Smoked brisket and again, absolutely delicious, I would definitely recommend it! My husband had the Pickerel & Chips & it was very disappointing, as soon as it came out you could tell by the dark brown colour it was cooked in old oil / overdone. The fish inside tasted fine but the batter was inedible. He picked the fish out & left the majority of the batter. It's too bad because other than that it was pretty great, the drinks were good, we enjoyed a nice bottle of wine with dinner and then finished with the pavlova for dessert (which I would say was just ok). Sitting on the patio was very enjoyable as the weather was great and there were no bugs. Our server was very good, and we really liked him. I would come back as I really enjoyed my meal but I wouldn't order the Pickerel or if I did I would ask for it to be pan fried.
Collin went above and beyond! The rest of the staff were very friendly and knowledgeable too. Food was delicious, portions — enormous (in a good way). Had no room for dessert, so we'll be coming back for it ?
This is one of the city's finest restaurants. You don't expect it by the location, but soon as you're inside (or on their patio) they whisk you away to culinary excellence and the world of fine wines, all with a humble and expert service. I love this place and will eat there again and again. Get the charcuterie board, trust me. Two favourite mains: Duck and Brisket.
A wonderful lunch at Preservation Hall and Eatery today! Such wonderful ambience, top notch service and excellent food!! The gratis birthday desert delivered with candle made my friend's day!! We were even escorted to our car by a server holding umbrellas up to keep us dry!
We have been coming here for a few years when we first came for our Anniversary dinner. We love it so much, I have made up an acronym for here - SAFE - which stands for Super Service, Awesome Atmosphere, Fantastic Food and Excellent Evening.
My wife and I came here for lunch based off of recommendations and social media reviews. The atmosphere was nice and relaxed, the dining area was very clean. Our servers were very warm, helpful and informative with any questions. We started with the potato and leek soup as well as the butter lettuce salad, both were prepared perfectly with great flavour. We had the pickerel with chips as well as the croque madame, both dishes were very impressive and satisfying. Our server suggested the profiteroles for dessert citing them as one of her personal favorites, this was a great suggestion as it was the perfect ending to our meal. Great wine and cocktail selection here as well. Overall very happy with the quality and service, we will return again. Highly recommended.

An excellent dining experience. Top quality food in a great atmosphere. The hardest thing here is trying to decide what to order! So many good options. And all the prices are reasonable for the great tasty food. Our new favourite place. Can’t wait to come back and try the house made charcuterie.

Courteous, professional, attentive service. Fabulous food presentation with delicious and unique flavours. Menu is average for catering to gluten and dairy free diets, but overall happy with my experience. A definite recommendation for high-end dining in Winnipeg, with a pleasantly brighter atmosphere than others in this category.
Just a terrible experience and shan’t be returning soon.Had the wrong drink brought to me, sat next to me for like 5 minutes, and then the server says, “sorry wrong table” and brings the drink over to some woman. Pretty sure that should have been re-made, regardless of if I touched it.Had our drink, and used the QR code at the table to pay our bill, and got up to leave. A server quickly stepped up to us as we were leaving and asked, “do you need help with the bill?” In a tone that let everyone assume that we were apparently trying to walk out on the bill?I think the play here is to assume that the customer paid by the QR code - otherwise why would you have them - and if you’re not sure, check and see if they paid at the POS system. Embarrassing experience to be accosted like that after having a couple drinks and paying for them as it seems you’re suggested to, only to be confronted in front of the entire patio. Will be happy to see what new restaurant moves into this space when this place finally goes under.

Lunch for three. A clubhouse sandwich, seafood croquettes, escargots and mushroom vol-au-vent....all were served hot and were very tasty. I had the smash burger. It looked like it had been cooked a long time ago and kept warm until served. It tasted only OK and the fries were quite dark, but also tasted only OK. The smash burger must have been very salty as I spent the afternoon drinking glass after glass of water. This is unusual for this restaurant, as their food has always been reliably good. The service was excellent, as usual.
