I’ve been going here ever since I can remember! It was the “special occasion” restaurant for us! The whole vibe/interior design does not disappoint! I hope it never changes!

It's not what it used to be, had the prime rib and it was ordered med as most med prime rib is a perfect med rare. It was well done, the baked potato could have been baked more. The tomatoes in the salad weren't even close to being edible. The soup was very good. Split pea and ham.

Atmosphere is beautiful! Steak came slightly undercooked, but they earn my respect for how they handled it!!

The last time I was at this Steakhouse was around 20 years ago. It was underwhelming then and 20 years later, it's still pretty underwhelming. After waiting a ridiculous amount of time for our food, a lot of it came out cold. One person in our party had to send it back. To be fair, they did have a few large parties to deal with and I dont so much mind the wait but they need to make sure the food is hot whem it leaves the litchen. My steak wasn't very hot, but I wasn't waiting for another one so I powered through. The steak itself, cooked to order, tender, but a bit on the dry side. This was common complaint around the table. I also found it a bit under seasoned even after paying $3 extra for blackening spice. Over all, it just noy as good as it should be for a high end steak house with high end pricng. Note..The manager was accommodating and comped us desserts and a little bit off our final bill. Cheers to him. Unfortunately, it may be another 20 years before I go back.

Could have been better with the service but food quality was good. Waiter was in a rush to take our plates away quickly and often checking in.

The restaurant is all about class, the ambiance second to none. The variety on the menu is endless.

Definitely an old-school feel for the steakhouse like Goodfellas vibe. I found the food to be subpar as my 12 ounce. New York steak was one of the toughest cuts I’ve ever had. My baked potato was cold. I received no vegetables on my plate. The upgraded French soup was also lukewarm overall I don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon.

Overall very disappointed in the service and food, asked for medium rare essentially got a blue rare steak , little to no flavour , had a table of 6 and the table did not get cleaned the whole time being there empty glasses and dirty plates sat as more food was brought out, the bread was awful it was cold and seemed like it was just picked out of a bag of sliced bread from grocery store , overall over priced and not worth it unfortunately

If you're going to charge fine dining steakhouse prices, like 529wellington, and hy's steakhouse, service must be improved. I don't think it's appropriate to use disposable sauce containers or chipped cups, and speaking to customers with salisbury vibe is not good. I can understand using pre-made components for efficiency, but the basics, the core food and presentation, should be done properly.

I ordered medium rare and it came out like beef tataki. I thought a sushi chef cooked it and if I gave CPR, even a cow might come back to life.

Given the clear understaffing, I would suggest reconsidering how many guests are accepted at one time, it’s better to ensure quality service than to risk disappointing customers.

My wife and I came here on a whim. We knew it was a Winnipeg staple and we were both in the mood for steak.

Stepping inside is like stepping into the 1970s. It's a complete time warp, but in a good way. The 70s are one of my favorite decades, so right away I was really digging the vibe and atmosphere.

We sat in the lounge and it was nice enough. Unfortunately there didn't seem to be any wait staff for our section so we were looked after by the bartender. He was pleasant enough but he was busy... so our service was a bit slow.

We both ordered the rib sandwich, which is supposedly one of their specialties. My cut of beef was pretty tough and my wife's was not cooked to her liking (asked for medium rare, she got bloody rare)

Presentation on the plate was also lacking considering the prices of the meal.

All in all, the entire meal was very 'meh'. My wife and I both agreed we likely won't be back.

Great steaks, generous portions.

Unfortunately it's really gone down hill with the new ownership. I've been going here for 25+ years, and don't think I'll be going anymore. The quality and preperation of the food, specifically the steak sandwich is awful. Hopefully things will turn around for them.

Great staff, good sear on the steak, good ambiance

The steak is delicious, and the amount of food you get is well worth it, in my opinion. I will definitely be coming back again! The garlic mashed potatoes, the beef barley soup, the French onion soup and the prime rib (I got natural cut), were all amazing, the chocolate cake was also really good. Everyone at the table not only enjoyed their meals but were full by the end of it. The service was great, and the food was fast. I highly recommend trying out rae and jerrys.
I wanted to edit to add: Our server denielle, was a delight, she was super helpful and very attentive.

Classic steak house old time hospitality, still one of the best steak houses in the country.
