Best Cobb salad I have ever had. Best I could ever imagine!

First time at Ray and Jerry’s January 18, 2025for my birthday… The staff… super friendly, and the level of professional you would expect from a long established restaurant The food… Steak was “okay”, baked potato wasn’t hot when it arrived, just cut in half and nothing in it and the skin was lukewarm to the touch, not even buttered, butter barely melted when added, sour cream and chive came on the side, bernaise sauce was also average, the sauteed mushrooms had no juice and came fairly dry. My daughters fries had many groupings stuck together…either from poor fryer space or grease keeping them together, chicken strip coating was pale and didn’t look like it had browned enough, and she didn’t like it - and she normally loves her chicken strips (first time she took one bite and didn’t want them). Their burger was a great size, however it had no spice, not even a salted flavour you would expect from a normally seasoned patty, and the burger would fall apart in your fingers with little effort. The chocolate cake was really good though. Not too sweet, and perfectly moist. Not trying to be a tough critic, just matter of fact on everything. 4/10 stars.

Our prime rib was stringy (overcooked) on the outside and really bloody in the middle and mashed potatoes and lobsters tail were cold. Our server took 25 minutes to come see if we wanted anything else after we were done eating. One of the guys at our table did not get the steak he ordered.
Never going there again.

Went there this past weekend with my girlfriend. We loved the decor, the staff were very friendly, and taste-wise the food was good - the appetizer was wonderfully flavourful, and the wine selection - though pricey - was also quite nice.

I unfortunately for the time being however feel that I cannot give this place a full 5-star recommendation, due to the fact that my girlfriend and I had been at the restaurant for nearly two hours, and had asked no less than three times where our food was before it was finally brought out to us. When it finally was, I was quite frustrated not only by the wait time and repeated asks, but that when my steak (which I had ordered as medium-rare) finally came out, looked a fair bit more blue than it should have, and both my and my girlfriend's food was not what I would consider hot, but like it had been only kept warm by a heating lamp so as to not entirely lose its heat. The mashed potatoes and brocolini were also warm, but nowhere near hot by that point, and I found the mashed potatoes a bit dry for my liking.

To the credit of the manager as well as the staff member who was both serving us, and training a new team member at the time, they did offer profuse apologies, and the gentleman who seemed to be the dining room manager was very apologetic as well, offering to make things right by making our entire meal free, which I felt was appropriate considering how unacceptable such a wait was. Even this however was less than anticipated...

I'm not sure if there was a miscommunication betweeen the manager and the server who tallied our final order, but we still paid 90 dollars for our wine and appetizer, which while a definite discount, is not exactly my interpretation of making the entire meal free. At that point however I was exhausted from having been sat there for over two hours and simply wished to leave, so we paid, and took our desserts to go.

We may still give this place a second chance in the future, as this could very well have been a fluke, but it probably won't be for a good while, as we're not keen on spending $200 on dinner (which would have been our final total) very often, and may be particularly hesitant after this experience.

Normally food is quite good, but my wife ordered chicken cordon Bleu. It was terrible too much breading, overcooked and old oily flavour. Not their best effort. I ordered a 10oz strip loin steak med rare. I noticed it was quite thick and done correctly. It did not have the shape or texture of a strip loin, more like a sirloin. Just wondering? By the way we ordered a bottle of Beringer Cab Sauv for $72 that retails for $19 @ MLCC. This makes me think the new owner has lost control and thinks his customers are stupid. We won't be back. Didn't complain in store as it would have spoiled an otherwise nice evening out with friends. You will notice the new owner does not respond to bad reviews, don't think he really cares!

Definitely one of the coolest interiors I've ever experienced. It's like an MCM 1950s time capsule. The food is fine and service is good. Youre definitely paying for the ambiance.

With new ownership, it seems that the quality of the food has declined and the prices have increased.

There are many other dining options out there, and we will be going there instead.

I’m disappointed. Rae and Jerry’s used to be reliably excellent, but our visit was not good. The drinks and meat were good. The bread basket has been downgraded to a few slices of white and a few slices of brown. The sides were mediocre at best, and the service was terrible. Only 1 person in our party of 5 got the correct meal, on time. Everyone else got something incorrect and late. It was a very long wait for all meals, and they did t come out at the same time. The server argued with my mother. She had asked for a potato and beans, but he insisted she’d asked for 2 types of potato. He kept calling all the females “love” for some reason- maybe a petty complaint, but still unnecessary and outdated. Maybe if someone hasn’t been there before, they might not notice the decline, but anyone who is used to the old standards will be disappointed. Too bad. Won’t be going back.
