I have been their casual customer for almost a year and I have no idea why many people commented on their food feel not tasty at all and the presentation was bad. Well, what I notice is that, the portion was alright, but it really shows not an authentic Malaysian Restaurant. I heard, the chef was Chinese? well, that's the issue. The price was decent (not cheap but not overpriced either). However, keep in mind I have not tried most of their menu, yet. So, some of the menu that people tried and complained, might beyond my knowledge. So far, I have been satisfied but definitely there is a room for improvement for Rakan House

There are good and bad things in this limited review. I ordered the shrimp lettuce wraps and the Thai red curry. The shrimp wraps were average at best, but came with lots of shrimp and a good portion size. The Thai red curry was terrible, and there was nothing Thai about it. Imagine a Thai curry with no coconut milk! That was this. It was glutinous and had a bit of heat, but no Thai flavours. It was very disappointing and reminded me of gummy North American Chinese food. On the upside, it did come with lots of chicken (more than usual). I did not eat at the restaurant, but had it delivered.

If you are looking for that warm comforting curry during a long cold winter LOOK FURTHER!! A good thai curry needs no introduction, Rakan House's curry leave you with a slimey yet fishy residue left on your palate. I also make the mistake and ordered the Thai chicken wings...which were over done chicken chunks that tasted like bad butter chicken without the butter! Needless to say for the 3 dishes I ordered and the 50$ I wasted I will not being recommending not ordering from them again..

Green curry is just bad. This is not how curry is supposed to taste like. I ordered from skip and the courrier was very friendly and I appreciated that but the food was just bad. Totally not worth it! It literally taste like chicken and water

I wouldn't recommend this place as it doesn't taste authentic at all. It could make people not familiar with South-East Asian cuisine think what they serve is what south-east Asian food tastes like. Just a heads up that this restaurant's food doesn't taste good, although the price is pretty acceptable and the service is good.

I came here for Malaysian food over the weekend. All the dishes we ordered tasted disgusting. I ordered the famous Malaysian Char Kueh Teow. It tasted as if the noodles were simply tossed in an extremely sweet dark soy sauce and oyster sauce with a few tiny pieces of shrimp and a couple pieces of thinly sliced lap cheong. The noodles were not fried as they should have beeen. My sister ordered Thai Pho noodles. The Pho too was nasty tasting and inedible. It was just as bad as the Char Kueh Teow. We left the restaurant very disappointed. I do not recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Malaysian or Chinese food.

Only place I know that has Laksa. Thai pork was flavourful, tender, and juicy. Pineapple fried rice would have been better of the rice was dryer (had good flavour but rice was too soft for a fried rice). Will go back to try more things and maybe the Pineapple fried rice again (maybe it was an off day)
