Nostalgic restaurant at a former train station with a train car used as restaurant

1st time dining at this restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised by the menu, ample selection to satisfy everyone’s tastes. Nice wine selection along with cocktails. Simple dining room charm. Food quality was very good, the dessert cart had a nice assortment of the day. Over all 5 stars-we’ll be back to try other dishes. Cheers.

Lovely restaurant with delicious food and fantastic service for our large group!

We drove in from Morden with a friend from Winnipeg. My wife and her had the seafood Crepe which when they shared with me, I'd order that next time. I had the chicken and beef pie which tasted homemade and just out of the oven. Service in the rail car was quick and Tea, the Korean waiter was really knowlegeable, very polite, and sold us as to which were the best selling items on the menu, which we had ordered, as well as the homemade desserts, yum. Well worth the 3 hours of travel and we'll be back.

Food was tasty. Took way too long for our food to come out. We had a reserved table top of 15 ish people and they just weren’t prepared or something.

The train car is definitely worth the visit alone the service was amazing despite the busy restaurant. The food was mediocre the fillet mignon was tough and chewy and the whole peppercorns caught me off guard in the gravy for the mashed potatoes worth trying for the experience but probably wouldn’t go again

For a restaurant this nice, with a menu this expensive, you should consider teaching proper etiquette, professionalism and class to your servers. I asked our server how long the food would be since we already had waited close to an hour for, to which she told me “it’s coming, there is a table of 45 in the other room” I am not quite sure why that was her defensive reply when I made this reservation well in advance as well. When I asked our server for the bills she was also defensive stating “well it’s going to take me a minute” which is why I asked her as soon as she put our plates down. Unbelievable! You couldn’t have just responded with “I’ll get that ready for you” or something more pleasant? I’ve had better customer service at fast food restaurants!
Upon receiving the bills our server mixed up the drinks on 5 of the receipts and walked away before taking the payment from one of my friends. Her solution was to call me and accuse my friend of walking out on her bill after we had to leave as we were already 50 minutes late with our evening. I told her we would come pay and she called me again 30 minutes later to demand a credit card over the phone. She didn’t even grab a box for my friend to take home her meal that she had a couple bites of. I tried to explain that it was her own mistake but she was acting extremely unprofessional to which I told her I did not feel that she was even deserving of the autograt! I had to block the number so who knows how many more times she tried to call me.
We were late for my other reservation because she couldn’t even do the math on the bills.
I had high hopes for Resto Gare but our service was impolite and disappointing. I don’t care if you have another party of 45 in the other room, you should have the accommodation to serve all 3 dining rooms that you offer. You have camera footage you can review before you accuse us of stealing. Our group will not be returning to this garbage place anytime soon!

Booked 2 weeks in adavnce to be able to sit in the train but when we arrived our table was taken even though we were on time. When we were taken to our new table in the resturant part which we had to wait 10 min extra for... it was still dirty and had food on the bench. Considering we were there for 2 hours and it was valentines day there was no live music... the food wasnt what I hoped for eaither. I had the salmon which was okay but surprised about the roasted potatos and beet salad (bland and canned). The bread was hard and cold too. Unfortunalty would not go back, the interrior is fancy yet people inside are dressed in sweatshirts yet the staff are dressed perfect for the atmospehere. Wish there was a policy for people that are not dressed appropriatly for the environment. Made me feel over dressed...

Beautiful decor and ambiance. Was not impressed with Valentine's prix fixe menu, especially given the price. Unfortunately it is what you would expect at a mediocre conference buffet fare in terms of presentation and quality. The champagne cocktail was good but would not recommend the whisky based cocktail. Good thing about service was only that it was fast as what you would expect from prepped prix fixe... Highly recommend sticking to the regular menu.

Highly recommend the train car. Very beautiful and interesting atmosphere. Food was great and service was perfect.

The customer service is ok

Food was good, portions were a nice size, enjoyed the atmosphere. Our server was good and attentive, but smelled like cigarettes, which was a little off-putting in terms of appetite.
