I recently visited Root 98, and I have to say, it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the food is fresh and full of flavor, and the service truly sets this place apart.
A special shoutout goes to Kamal, who made my visit even better. She is incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely cares about her customers. Stopped into the Root 98 restaurant as I was waiting for my co-worker that flew into YWG at a later time. I loved that the entire restaurant was centered around fresh produce. From the menu, dishes, drinks and shakes everything has something to do with fruits and veggies.
I grabbed the all day breakfast with a summer salad. Absolutely amazing. The staff was very nice and respectful and helped out with any questions asked.
The restaurant atmosphere was quiet and a great place to relax when you get off an international flight. I would definitely come back when I pass through YWG and try some other items.

The menu had so many wonderful choices. The burger and signature salad were wonderful, the salad was fresh and the burger was well cooked and so tasty. I would recommend stopping by on your way to catching a flight or after. Nice way to end my trip.

My companion ordered the pork tenderloin. It came out cold. After bringing it to the server's attention, they eventually offered to re-make the entree. The next one was hot, but so dried out it was all but inedible. Worse meal ever ... even for airport food. Not a lot of options in the Winnipeg terminal, but this place is not a good one, even still.
Update: They removed the pork tenderloin from the cheque's, unprompted.

A beautiful small upscale spot right at the arrivals pickup in the Winnipeg airport. This is genius on two levels:
1) You can pick up someone and grab a real quality bite to eat and wait for them, AND they validate parking ( boom, value!)
2) As a frequent business traveler who is tired of the Tim Hortons alternative, it’s MUCH appreciated to have good and healthy food options when you arrive at weird times (and need food like a human)
Food was really creative healthy and delicious, service was very warm and quirky ( their coffee was really good!)
Love this spot.
Parking: This restaurant validates parking! So grab a bite whilst you wait for your pickup and it pays for itself!
