I've been here a few times (4 times, I think) over the past few years and it has always been the same experience.....food is great but service is very slow. Not sure if it has to do with the large crowds before an event at the Concert Hall or Theatre Centre which strain the service staff, but something should be done to address this. Staff is nice... just under-numbered it seems. Went there for a private event recently as well. Food was fantastic and service was much better.Keep doing what you do but with more bodies thrown in the mix.

I typically am not someone who leaves a review good or bad, however our experience was extremely disappointing. My fiancé and I attended dinner this evening and had made a reservation weeks in advance. When we arrived we were asked where we would like to sit and we said by the window. The hostess said they were too busy tonight that we could not sit by the window. The restaurant was dead and they put us at a small booth at the back. If someone makes a reservation in advance they should give them the priority table regardless of how many people are in their party or not. We had decided to order the Ciao Winnipeg pre selected options to partake in the event and support local business. The starter hummus was watery and the pita bread straight from a grocery store. It doesn’t take much to make a delicious hummus and pita when you have an industrial kitchen at your fingertips. The entrees were from the frozen food aisle of a grocery store. Zero flavour, unrecognizable as chicken or fish and the sides watery. Again felt like items were made from a box. The dessert was no better either clearly just a pre-made costco selection passed off to be their own. I will never go back and I will never recommend this restaurant to anyone. It’s a shame because you’d think a partnership with Ciao Winnipeg would entice them to make a banging meal but ultimately they totally skimped!

I went there during lunch and the time it took for the food to come out was too long. However, it was worth it! I just wish I had the time for the wait. I ordered the spicy chicken club and subtituted truffle fries. The chicken sandwich was juicy and full of flavors. The spice came not just from the sauces but also the chicken. The truffle fries had good flavour but were WAY too oily. All in all, a solid experience.

Fantastic place with good pub food at very reasonable prices. The charcuterie board is massive for the price.

This was the worst food and service. We were seated comfortably at a a table and we were moved to a smaller table. The 4 of us were scrunched up like sardines. The food was horrible. I ordered the carrot ginger soup. It was just ginger soup with food colouring. It was tasteless and could not be eaten. The crispy wings were not crispy. The waiter was horrible and absolutely no customer service skill. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Excellent food. The Crispy Brussels Sprouts appetizer was outstanding! The Creole Steak and Prawns was very tasty.Really need to add some heat to the washrooms; I’m sure it was just above zero, so the pipes don’t freeze.

Im conflicted writing this review as I believe this was hopefully a one time issue. We went to saddlery on January 6th for dinner. The menu we were given did not reflect the menu shown online. After being seated we waited 30 minutes for staff to come and take our order. When we asked about the oddly small menu they informed us that there were sick calls in the kitchen and they had to make a small menu for the night to be able to keep up with the demand of orders. After submitting our order we waited another hour and a half and no one had come to check on our table or even offer us water. We finally asked a staff member if we would be getting our food sometime soon, to which they told us that the kitchen staff had "revolted" and were no longer making food due to the lack of staff working that night. The staff member said they would try to get our food out as soon as possible. 20 minutes later the first thing to arrive was the Bison Nachos. The cheese was not melted and the plate was completely cold. After that one member of our party got a Salad without salad dressing. Then two burgers came that were burnt to the point of crumbling apart and were completely inedible. The only thing that was correct was the pizza. The staff did take 50% off our bill in the end but honestly I think management should have closed for the evening instead of trying to work through the disaster of an evening it turned out to be. We know we weren't the only ones disappointed by the service as we over heard other tables saying they wouldn't be paying for the food or that the food was inedible. I'm hoping this was an isolated incident and I understand that the staff did the best they could. Next time perhaps inform people before they are seated about what is going on and let them choose if they want to stay.

Was here for a large function, it was pretty crowded. The food was served "family style", not exactly my preference. The food was good. There wasn't a bouncer or security staff on-site to deal with intoxicated people. This was a bit concerning.

Finding a venue was the worst part about planning our wedding for my partner and I. We poured over the “All Things Wedding in Manitoba” Facebook page. We sifted through spreadsheets from friends who had gotten married earlier this year. And when we finally got to an in-person location scout, we crashed our car on the way to a venue.By April, we knew we would have to push the wedding to next year if we didn't nail down a location soon. The idea of prolonging the planning made us both shudder. So we doubled down, and it was during one of these frantic late-night searches that we stumbled upon the Saddlery. As Winnipeg history buffs, the old brick building hit a sweet spot for both of us. And as a person who has had a million different jobs, I found it funny that I had worked there as a hostess during its Don Pedro’s Mexican grill era.We wanted a venue that could accommodate our 70-person guest list. One where we could hold the ceremony + reception in the same space. Something within our not-extravagant budget, with cozy lighting, good food, and room for a bumping dance floor. The Saddlery had all of this and more.My Dad is a musician, and we had asked him to woo our guests with a set to kick off the party. We went there for drinks before the wedding so he and my best friend/our wedding DJ could take a look. The Saddlery manager and wedding contact, Roula, was working that night. She very graciously answered questions as my Dad dreamed up the greatest one-man classic rock set of our dreams. To say our wedding was a dream day and night is an understatement. Walking through a room stuffed with the people we love most in the world, towards our wooden ceremony arch (rented from the Saddlery!) and the gorgeous flowers that adorned it (shout out to Shop Public!) was absolutely magical. The rest of the night was just as beautiful. We took in our artfully laid-out floor plan (suggested by Roula) from our sweetheart table view. We enjoyed every moment of the lovely atmosphere, the excellent and intuitive service from all the staff, the way the room gave space for old friends and family to chat and new connections to grow.We are fortunate enough to have a flood of loving and supportive family and friends who made our wedding possible, alongside a wedding planner (and then a back-up when she got sick) who helped out with logistics (definitely recommend!). As we took in our dream party a wave of vindication flooded over us. The venue where you choose to have your wedding does matter. And we were very lucky to have found our perfect spot.

Saddlery is a hidden gem in wpg!!! Delish food, cozy but still classy ambience, and great service! We can’t wait to go back! Also you have to try the fish tacos and mac n’ cheese!

The Saddlery is one of my go-to spots whenever I'm downtown and looking for a bite to eat. The restaurant is very spacious and has a great atmosphere. The brussel sprouts are fantastic, probably my favourite in the city (so far)! You also cannot go wrong with those bison nachos. The lamb burger was a little dry for my liking but the bison mac burger is great (albeit super messy). It's always hard to decide what to order!
