We honestly weren't sure what to expect, but we both love German dishes and it looked good online. Pulling up, it was easy to park and it had that classic diner vibe, which I love. My wife and I were blown away by the food. The schnitzel was thin and crisp and delicious. The side salad was dressed all the way through, not just on top. The bratwurst was well cooked and flavourful with spicy mustard for dipping. And it was honestly the best potato salad I think I've ever eaten. Just delicious. But what topped everything was the cheesy spaetzle. OMG!! I could have skipped everything else and still left happy. Amazing! The German chocolate cake for dessert looked as good as it tasted.
It was our first visit to Sam's, made an incredible Valentine's dinner in a quiet spot where you could talk to each other without yelling, and the staff was fantastic. We've already decided we'll be back next time we're in Winnipeg. Or maybe take a trip just to go for dinner again. I wish we had discovered it sooner!

"Wow! I’m absolutely blown away! This man never ceases to amaze me! If you haven’t been to this place for the food yet, at least go meet this incredible entrepreneur and personality. I’ve never encountered someone so passionate about what they do! The quality, presentation, and flavor of the food can’t be praised enough. And the customer service? Honestly, I’m speechless! As if that wasn’t enough, he even sent us home with a handful of chocolates! I knew there would be something, as he surprises us each time, but this was truly unforgettable! 😅"

We had the schnitzel platter and schnitzel burger, spaetzle, potato salad and it was all very good. The portions were reasonable as were the prices. Beer selection was really good and they had Erdinger, yum! Service was prompt and friendly. They came by to check on us twice. All in all, will definitely visit again.

Staff was very welcoming and thoroughly reviewed the menu. They even remembered the exact order one person in our party would have!
The food was ok, somewhat bland and unexciting but a good hearty schnitzel and spetzle just the same.
Atmosphere, well, there wasn't one. Bathrooms are locked, and you need to ask for a key, and the ambiance is that of a small cafeteria.
I would still return though, and would recommend to freinds as a decent enough lunch stop.
