Felt very uncomfortable and out of place when coming to this restaurant. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was amazing.
The only thing that made us uncomfortable was the waiter.
When it came to the tipping. They clearly had an annoyed look or was obviously offended when we tipped.

The pounded cheese and cauliflower fritters were unreal delicious 😋 and their selection of zero proof mocktails was really nice!
We had a great server who made good suggestions too!

Had the brisket on Sunday, we were very impressed, would have loved a little music or something to bring on the atmosphere a bit, but the service and the food, fantastic!

My husband and I had a quick bite (3 appys, wine and a cocktail) before the movies last night. We felt that the server Yvan profiled us and gave us minimal service. Not sure if it was an age thing (we are 40, avg customer maybe 50?), racial thing (we are asian) or maybe we are just a table of two? He did not even bother to tell us the special, did not come by our table much and it almost felt like our existance was a bother. The table beside us - a table of 4 older guests, got his undivided attention and he clearly appreciated their presence.

We had made a reservation for our anniversary and wanted it to be special. Upon arrival it appeared they couldn't find our reservation, even after showing the reservation confirmation on my phone. The host seemed like it wasn't a big deal, and stated you weren't full.. After waiting a few minutes we were brought into the lounge after requesting the dining room on our reservation. The server Liberty was very friendly, knowledgeable and attentive, so there was in no way an issue with her. We both ordered steaks and I ordered mine rare after being told by a friend that you are better off ordering a level under as it's more common for the steak to come a little more done than requested here. I've never had an issue here but I figured I would do it, as I didn't want to have an issue. As to my surprise my steak did not come out rare or really close to rare. I didn't want to make a deal about it at the time because the server was really nice and there's really not much that can be done when it's overdone. The food was all really good otherwise but it was a little disappointing to have our reservation “not in the system” and to be sat in the lounge in a very informal setting for a special occasion. It just seemed to be overlooked. Overall for the price point it was disappointing.
Atmosphere and food was fine, the service was a level I would expect at a hole in the wall Chinese Restaurant.
Service times were painfully slow, in a fully staffed not full building. We were in no rush the night we visited but the time to get water/cocktails/food orders/ etc just felt way too slow and painfully irritating the entire night.
I don't mind paying $64 for a steak and $12 for a side to go with but you need to deliver on service, atmosphere, and food quality.
The tenderloin steak was cooked to perfection, but lacked any type of wow punch of flavour id expect at fine dining.
Ordered squash as my side - It had a lot going for it however it was inconsistent in texture and most pieces had a undercooked crunch to them - I am not sure if they were going for this but the softer pieces were perfect in my opinion (its too bad there was only 2 pieces cooked properly on the whole dish for $12)
Disclaimer: I am reviewing this restaurant a lot harder then I would most. But unfortunately when you charge premium prices customers expect premium experiences. This restaurant has a lot to figure out on guest experience before it will stabilize as a premium restaurant.

We had a festive and happy Christmas supper meal! The staff were clearly busy, as was the restaurant, but still somehow shared a Xmas spirit! We weren't rushed at all A wide range of dishes - from cheese, salads, vegetables, traditional Xmas turkey, salmon and beef. Every dish was equally tasty. What a lovely way to have Xmas supper. Will definitely book again. Thank you

A nice spot to grab breakfast in the Forks. I ordered the classic eggs benedict. It was okay, but it was very light on the hollandaise sauce. The portions were a good size as well. Most of the items on the menu have gluten free options if you ask. The restaurant has a nice dark chic vibe which I liked.

If you’re staying near the Winnipeg train station, the nearby Forks Market food hall has myriad great eclectic fast-casual dining options. But after several of these, we found SMITH, just next door, to be a great choice for an upscale dining experience. Charming and attentive table service, an inventive and varied menu, and an outstanding bar and wine selection.

Ordered beef tenderloin, it was absolutely delicious. Ordered mushrooms and carrots as sides, which were over the tip with flavor.
