We have ordered many times in the last few years. Most orders were very good, only on extremely busy times, all dishes were not at their very best as compared to less busy times. Still even then, the food was way better than most competitors dishes.

This is the best Chinese food restaurant in the area. Great food and great people. Love the portion size and flavors are incredible.
Vegetarian options: The chop suey was delicious and the have an abundance of vegetarian options.
Dietary restrictions: Several individuals had dietary restrictions and the restaurants was able to accommodate the mastications without questions and at no extra cost. Wonderful staff and great chef.

South Ocean has been my go-to for wonton soup for years. Their broth is authentic, simple, and so comforting. Love their other noddle dishes as well. I do wish the interior decor of the restaurant was more inviting, otherwise I would dine in more often.

Spicy chicken dish was nothing but chicken fat pieces. No lean chicken breast to be found.Vegetable dish was nothing but broccoli stems. Egg rolls were small with next to nothing in them.Arrived right when they opened to place order. While order was being taken, phone rings and the attendant just answers the phone and takes the order. Doesn’t even excuse herself. Terrible service, terrible food. Never eating their food again.

I'm very disappointed to have to write this review. My family has enjoyed South Ocean for many many years. I moved out of the area a few years back, though my parents still live in the area and continued to enjoy them so we decided to order a large amount for a party this evening. The dishes were not good. At all. The noodles in our two orders were over cooked and mushy with no flavor, the chicken in the fried rice had a slimy weird texture (as did the beef in another dish), and the fried rice was very dry almost as though it was old. We ordered two different Noodle dishes and though they had the appropriate numbers written on the containers (the only two containers that were actually labeled, I might add), they were the exact same mushy flavorless dish. The ginger beef was good, thankfully, and the young woman who delivered our order was very nice. Other than that, there's nothing positive to say.We called to speak to the manager about our experience and were offered no apology. Simply told that they were very busy tonight and that no one else complained. Very poor customer service to a family that has been loyal customers for over a decade. We will never order from here again or recommend it to anyone. This could have been solved with an apology and some form of compensation but, unfortunately, neither of which were provided.Do yourself a favor and choose a different Chinese Food restaurant to order from.

Come here for lunch every week and it's still great for a great price! $10 lunch special is more than enough food.
