I visited Spicy Grill tonight, and I couldn’t even wait to finish my food before sharing this. The service is excellent! I ate Chicken Pakorra to appetize me for the sumptuous plate of Lamb Biryani. The Lamb Biryani plate I got is XL, shared with my friend. We couldn’t eat it all and took it home. The food is tasty and my favorite thing has to be the Mango Lassi drink! Ugh! Foodgasm!

The manager was taking our order for some reason, very patient with us but NOT friendly. Made us pay first. I poured the water and it was dirty in my cup. The mango juice had dust and small hairs ontop of it. We all got the butter chicken but there was maybe 5 small pieces of chicken in our bowls, both small and regular sized. The butter chicken had a sweeter taste which was unexpected. They gave us huge bowls of rice, felt like we spent $20 to get filled with cheap carbs and no protein. Nobody else there on a friday night, probably because they charged us $10 a shot.

Softest naan I've had in Winnipeg... Authentic Indian samosas, not just mashed potatoes in a pastry, it actually has spices and flavour in the filling. Great location, decent food. Would definitely like to try more dishes from here.Edit: They treat their employees horribly. I do not support the way the owner speaks to his employees. It's very demeaning and exploitative. There is no professionalism in the replies to the complaints other people have. A quick look in the back will tell you all the issues with the cleanliness of this place. Some dishes are great, others are bad, yet they refuse to admit that they can make a mistake. God only knows what's happening when customers are not there.

This place by far exceeded expectations. We've eaten at lots of Indian restaurants before, mostly in Toronto, and the food at this restaurant was better than anything we've ever had. We arrived late, almost 11:30 on a Monday night, and yet the owner and his son were so friendly and solicitous, and recommended different dishes, explaining each one. I highly recommend the Hakka Manchurian chicken. We also had the Aloo Gobi and the chicken vindaloo. All perfectly spiced. The portions are huge--we had lots to take home. Next time we come to Winnipeg, this is our go-to.
Their lamb curry is so good that it will make you keep coming back to this place. The taste is consistent and the quality of food is also good.
