I come to Starbucks for one main thing: coffee. Not a life-affirming message written on my cup, not a scripted chat at the drive-thru window. Just coffee, done right and done quickly.
The drinks here are usually solid, and the staff are clearly doing their best, but they’re often slammed. You can tell corporate wants them to hit some kind of “personal connection” quota, which only slows things down and makes it awkward for everyone. When there’s a line of cars out to the street, no one wants to chat about their weekend or wait while someone writes a long note on their cup.
I respect the baristas. They work hard and stay polite under pressure, but the forced small talk and extra fluff just get in the way. A little more efficiency and a little less performative friendliness would go a long way here.

They never remember to put the whipped cream on pumpkin spice lattes this is like the 3rd time I literally got my coffee then stopped at no frills to buy my own whipped cream to add myself since this seems to be a continuous thing

I arrived at Starbucks on my break and waited for 25 minutes to get my cold brew and had to ask for a refund because it was taking so long while 4 people were standing around doing nothing.

Some might say overpriced coffee, but you get decent standardized lattes wherever you go in the world. They hire local people unlike the competition like Tim Hortons. The food is okay. It's Starbucks, you know what you get!

These guys are worse. No sense of talking to customers and they are very lazy. I waited 15 minutes for a single drink. Restaurant is not even busy and they keep talking to each other. Not recommended at all.
