I took takeout and the sushi rolls were excellent and amazing with a lot of authenticity to it. There was one with the eel which was out of this world. I understand why this is high rated. Definitely deserved

Expectations versus reality…
We drove 40 minutes from the other side of town based on a recommendation, but from now on, we’ll trust our instincts. Judging by the photos alone, it already seemed a bit questionable, and once we walked inside, we probably should have left immediately. Still, since it was recommended to us, we decided to give it a try, hoping the food would be good.
To start with, there is barely any space inside. There are only two dirty tables pushed together and one table by the window, which they wiped down with an old, wet rag right in front of us, leaving the surface just as wet. The chairs have dirty covers. The smell was awful—like burnt frying oil, the kind that produces smoke—and it made my throat sore.
We waited a long time for our order. Each dish was brought out separately, with about a 10-minute wait between them.
Now for the most important part: I love several types of rolls and order them everywhere, but this was the first time they were truly terrible. The caterpillar roll had only cucumber and avocado on top—there was no eel at all—and the rice was very, very cold. The rainbow roll was also cold, with the fish seemingly minced. We also ordered tuna rolls and nigiri, was shocked and didn’t make a photo, they were poorly made and cold, leaving no sense of fullness, only a heavy feeling in the stomach from the cold rice.
There are no drinks available, not even hot tea.
This place is only for coming and picking up your order, I don't recommend sitting there, and I don't recommend the sushi either.

One of the best restaurants I've been to. The food was spectacular. Takoyaki was very similar to what I had in Japan and the octopus was so soft.
Highly recommend !
Dynamite, tiger, crunchy salmon and yam roll.
(The yam was my favourite) 🥹

BEST sushi in Winnipeg, no competition!! The layer of rice is very thin which means you can taste all the inside goodness! Very fresh and I can’t help myself from ordering like once a week! I send everyone I know to Sushi Dojo and they all LOVE it.

I had such a wonderful experience at Sushi Dojo! The owner, Maggie, was so kind and welcoming. She took the time to chat with me and recommended her favorite — the creamy yam roll — which she generously offered on the house. It was absolutely delicious! Everything was fresh, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. You can really tell they care about both their food and their customers. Easily one of my new favorite sushi spots in Winnipeg. Highly recommend! 🍣💛
