The best selection and quality of All-you-can-eat Sushi that I’ve tried so far in Winnipeg. Price is very reasonable and service was excellent. Parking is a challenge though.

Service? 1/10. They advertise that they close at 22:00. Last order 21:00. Understandable. But people are still eating around 21:15/21:30, and they're cleaning the bathroom and doesn't let anyone use it anymore. The servers doesn't seem like they even want to be there either. Still, they ask for a 15% tip for such service.
Nice to know I can't use the bathroom at 21:15 as a paying customer still eating. And also, they do close at 22:00. Maybe they should change it to 21:00 so they have more reason to not let us use the bathroom anymore.

Amazing all-you-can-eat sushi! The food at Sushi Gen is always fresh and delicious. I especially loved the sashimi and torched salmon — so good! Great variety, fast service, and friendly staff. Totally worth the price. One of the best sushi places in Winnipeg. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately just not a hit for us. 42$ for all you can eat at 4 PM (dinner). Sushi rice was continually warm, even hot. Atmosphere felt grimey and unkempt. Tempura tasted undercooked and bland. Our host was good, but the servers lack even casual professionality. The love just wasn't there.

My husband, in laws, our 1 year old and i went as we go at least 2-3 times a year. They made us pay for our 1 year old even though he had maybe 5 bites of food.(it wasnt much to pay for him but hes only 1!) the service wasnt great either…no smiles, had to remind them to fill our waters (which was warm water!) and they would just run past us and throw the food on our table. They also forgot part of our order and had to wait at elast 15-20 mins before anyone came back for our menu.
Weirdly enough the customer service was just fine for me very polite and accommodating and the food was good.. however Everytime I went there I kept having an unpleasant experience with the patrons it was the weirdest cycle ever lol... But they were unpleasant enough for me to leave this review as it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth years later.

My family and I enjoy coming here. But the fact that they charge $8.99 for kids under 2 is mind blowing. They DO NOT provide proper high chairs and changing tables in the washroom. If you’re a family friendly restaurant these things are a must.
